News Obesity May Be A Side Effect Of Ptsd In Women La Article

I can't say for certain that it is cause and effect, but I gained a massive amount of weight after my trauma in 1988. I yo-yoed for a really long time, until I pretty much stabilized 2 years ago. Coincidentally (or not - you decide) that was also when I finally got into therapy and worked on...

    The Help

I had a similar thought, but I can't say that it bothered me. I don't necessarily write and speak the same way. I've lived in multiple different states, and carry over certain words from Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and the Chicago area. In general, I have a flat "non" Midwestern accent. But I...

2013 Kris Kringle Gift Sent - Complete!!!

Wow. No issues like that on this end. As a matter of fact, the clerk didn't even batt an eye when is was addressed from Kris Kringle. Even when I paid with plastic using my real name. I was expecting to have to explain that one, at the very least. Nope. Slid right on through. I just had to...

    Book Club Chit Chat Thread

The Book Thief is available on Audible, so I would guess it would be on Kindle also.

    The Help

I finished the book a few days ago, and just watched the movie. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a movie made from a book so much. There were a few departures from the detail in the book, but they stuck remarkably close to it. Loved it. I very much recommend both the book and the movie.

    The Help

I'm about halfway through the re-read. I'm glad I decided to read it a second time. I'd forgotten how much I'd enjoyed it. I was touched by the maids deciding to talk to Skeeter, despite the huge risk. This is a time before I was born (1968) and it helps me understand what things were like for...

    Book List

I'd suggest The Book Thief. I just finished it recently. Excellent.

    The Life Of Pi

I just finished Life of Pi. I actually really liked how it ended. It definitely left me wanting more. Those who have seen the movie... how did it compare?

    The Help

I haven't seen the movie yet. How did it compare to the book, DMerish? Sometimes they stick pretty close to the plot, and other times.... NOT.

Relationship I Think My Girlfriend Has Ptsd

Take a look on the US Veteran's Affairs site. I believe there used to be a PTSD test on there. Whether or not she'd be willing to take it, I couldn't say, but it might be a place to begin. Be sure to check out the WIKI section here. There is a wealth of information. Honestly, if she's that...

    The Help

I read this one a while back, but I remember really liking it. I think I'll give it a second read so that I can participate here. What stayed with me about the book as a whole, was the way the author painted the relationships. I remember it being a very well woven tapestry of characters, and I...

    The Life Of Pi

I'm enjoying this book quite a bit. It's one that I had kind of put off, though I can't figure out now why. I'm to the point now where the hyena is cycling in the lifeboat. I have to say, I enjoy this writer's style and humor. My favorite part thus far was when the "Three Wise Men" met. The...

    The Life Of Pi

I just began this book on Audible. I've gotten through the into, and the explanation of the pool and how Pi became Pi, and now into the discussion of atheist vs agnostic, which I found interesting.

    To Find A Mountain

Me too, Ayesha. I drive a lot for work, and it makes the time pass much faster. Plus I feel like the time isn't wasted. I started off listening to rock music while painting, but dancing up on scaffolding turned out to be a bad plan. So Audible, it is! Lol!

    To Find A Mountain

Was hoping to find this one on Audible, as I've been painting my house lately, and listening to audio books makes it go by faster. No such luck, though. It sounds similar in plot to The Book Thief, though. Hopefully I'll be able to sit down with a real book when it gets cold out.
