A long-time PTSD diagnosis was accelerated by years of mismanaged medications by a doctor . Once I learned she was under investigation, I moved to self admit to a hospital (prior to which I spent days in support/guidance by my "team" - a new Psychiatrist, current Psychologist, long-time Primary Care Doctor and my husband). While hospitalized, an interrogative, harassing and inappropriate interview process ensued for three days by the assigned nurses, a doctor and some staff. It was then necessary to seek out a second self admit which offered a healthy, stabilizing approach to the level of psychiatry I needed. It produced an entirely effective result. However, the first described experience re-traumatized all my symptoms at once and I feel as though I m starting "from scratch" to re-learn many coping skill gathered over the years. I am slowly gaining courage to start a healing process along with my team of support. I am a high level ptsd sufferer who, following these recent experiences, was on the verge of the neurological break. This site is useful to me as a survivor. I am not endorsing anyone else to only use the internet for a personal diagnosis. However, the research professionals and information here is slowly expanding my personal knowledge of how to live harmoniously with a disorder. I appreciate the efforts of this site and thanks for letting me share.
