    It does get better each day, as the shock wears off. Still painful, but maybe I needed something like this to happen to get me to start seeing a therapist.

    Being an empath anyway, I definitely see how PTSD makes us more sympathetic to others. We know what the lasting effects of trauma are like!

    Thank you for such a kind and informative reply, Silver. I am not seeing a therapist and am strongly considering doing so. I agree with you that it would be really helpful.
