Muse, Check out my introduction in the 'Introductions' section. A black-box warning side effect from an SSRI (Zoloft) is what sent me to a mental hospital and CAUSED MY PTSD! At the hospital they gave me Lexapro which caused visual hallucinations. Now I'm on tryciclic antidepressant and...

Suffering Ptsd From Mental Hospitalization Due To Ssri Side Effect

Hi! Thanks. It really was not the medication that caused the PTSD. The medication caused dishinibition, which provoked suicidal thoughts in me that I never felt before. It was being sent to a mental hospital that caused my PTSD.

Suffering Ptsd From Mental Hospitalization Due To Ssri Side Effect

Thanks Debbie for your insight. I was definitely anxious and a little depressed since my baby was sick and crying for most of the day. It's just so recent and hard...The other night I was giving her a bottle and sitting in the same rocking chair I spent weeks nursing her...when all of a sudden I looked at her and smiled...in that instant it seemed like nothing had happened, that it was all a nightmare...I...

Suffering Ptsd From Mental Hospitalization Due To Ssri Side Effect

Thank you Christy! I found this forum to be very helpful. In a weird way it makes me feel better that I am not the only one experiencing these symptoms...It's also encouraging to read about so many people that have healed from their PTSD and are now living a better life.... Even though some...

Suffering Ptsd From Mental Hospitalization Due To Ssri Side Effect

My story starts so eerily similar to that of Rebekah Beddoe from Australia, who wrote the book Dying for a Cure - just google her name as I cannot post web links yet. Of course, I cannot tell you to avoid SSRIs since everybody is different and in fact I had taken Zoloft a decade ago for about...

Suffering Ptsd From Mental Hospitalization Due To Ssri Side Effect

Hi! I wonder if there are others like me here. I had a baby a while ago; everything was going great; we bonded immediately; we were so close we slept together and I nursed her at night, which made us really close. It was a hectic time, but I felt in the clouds, so in love with my baby. At 7...
