    Sertraline, Serious Side Effects?

I take Sertraline to control anxiety as it was giving me terrible heart palpitations, plus the usual worrying about everything, insomnia, etc. My side effects initially were nausea, upset stomach, occasional mind zaps, and total lack of libido. I already suffer from RLS but it seems to be worse...

Transference And Afraid That My T Is Frustrated With Me.

You're lucky if your T feels hugs / contact is ok. I had a discussion last time with my T regarding our EMDR and me being scared in case I end up a bubbling wreck. He knows I hate the thought of losing control of myself & my emotions. This makes me block / resist some parts of therapy. He asked...

Transference And Afraid That My T Is Frustrated With Me.

I struggle to verbalise some emotional stuff, so I often write down what I want to tell my T, and take it to the next session for him to read. This way I know I've had time to write it down how I want it to be understood, in my own time.

    Yesterday, My Therapist Dumped Me.

hi, just wondering how your session went with the new T? :)

    Yesterday, My Therapist Dumped Me.

that sounds rather unprofessional on her behalf!! I'd be tempted to report her behaviour to a higher authority. Not sure what that would be in the USA, sorry. Hugs for you, if you want them - its not an easy journey even with sympathetic therapists.

Sertraline / Zoloft - Wearing Off Time Scale?

hello. :) I take 50mg per day of Sertraline, normally with my evening meal, as this is what works best for me in terms of managing the nausea and stomach upsets. As the day progresses and heads towards evening I sometimes feel slightly down - almost as if the Sertraline is at its lowest level...

Apathy And Loss Of Libido As A Side Effect Of Ssri (in My Case Prozac)

hi, I don't take Prozac, however I do take Zoloft / Sertraline and have the same feeling of apathy, and lack of libido. I just don't feel much! However, I can still cry when upset about personal stuff. I just don't seem to feel much towards others, or even maintain decent thought patterns...

When You Dissociate, Where Do You Go?

I go outside of my body and am alongside, observing. I don't disassociate very often to be fair. I do sometimes get "looking through the wrong end of binoculars" vision - no idea if there is a better way to explain this, but it is literally as if I cannot control my focus, and everything is tiny.

Zoloft - Not Wanting To Get Out Of Bed...

I was on Sertaline (Zoloft) last Autumn until January at just 25mg / day. The doctor wanted me to take 50mg / day but I couldn't cope with the nausea and insomnia / hyperness. I cant imagine being able to stomach 100 or 200 mg per day! How do you cope?? I stopped in January as I felt like I was...

    Childhood Needing A 'cuddly'

I'm sure Scotland has more than one T to go around. :p The one I see is lovely but is not based in my town and does one or two days a week here, so my appointments tend to be far apart due to high demand when he is in town.

    Childhood Needing A 'cuddly'

@Lucycat- I also use texts or email messages from my T as a source of comfort. Often it's the reaching out and getting a reply that soothes rather than the actual words. I have always had soft toys as a source of comfort, although I don't actively cuddle them as an adult. Recently I have felt...

Therapy Appointment - Wow! No Thank You.

I agree with rainy-daze, it should never be about your T. They are there to help you, not for you to learn about them! All I learnt about my T was that he had children so could relate to my issues around parenting.

    Hobbies

Ghotiff has described knitting and crochet, so I'll add: cross stitch is literally following a colour coded pattern to create a picture on material with little cross (x) stitches. You use embroidery thread and a fairly thick needle depending on your backing material. I am doing one that is a...

Trauma Focused Cbt Vs Normal Cbt?

Thank you both for your replies. I've not been díagnosed with PTSD, but see my T for GAD, low self esteem, poor body image and several similar things. We've been working on my negative thought patterns and constant worrying using CBT for 18 months now. I only see him every four weeks or so, so...
