Undiagnosed I Think I Have PTSD

Pinterest has several worksheets and notes you can find for free, I believe there are other sites as well. Most of the information from it is pretty widespread. On Amazon you can get an extensive workbook for about $30. Considering everything it covers it’s not a bad price.

Undiagnosed I Think I Have PTSD

Sure, DBT is dialectical behavior therapy. I’m sure you know the other two but just in case attention deficit disorder and attention deficit hyperactive disorder.

Undiagnosed I Think I Have PTSD

What I would suggest at this point: Find a DBT course to start reading through and practicing on your own. Identify what it is about the intake process or therapists that is triggering you. Use DBT to work to overcome that trigger. Contact a therapist in your area preferably familiar...

What part of the intake process is so triggering you go haywire?

    Falling In "Love" Too Quickly?

I agree. I’m lonely beyond belief, but also have all the fun CPTSD/hypersexuality/non trusting but also too trusting/push pull shit that doesn’t seem like it ever wants to end and just let me be “healthy” whatever that really is.

    Falling In "Love" Too Quickly?

I feel every single word of this. You aren’t alone.

Undiagnosed I Think I Have PTSD

Self control is really important to get a handle on for yourself. A T can help with that, but they also don’t deserve to be abused because you refuse to try to control yourself.

Undiagnosed I Think I Have PTSD

You don’t need to go searching across the country. Find a T in your area. When you find them, be polite and explain your situation in a calm manner and don’t go off on them right away when they haven’t even done anything to you (I’m assuming here because I can’t wrap my head around it). I’ve...

Undiagnosed I Think I Have PTSD

Lashing out when warranted is a thing, sure. Been there done that. But I don’t get why it would be at everyone right off the bat.

    Emailing T between sessions

Definitely bring these concerns up with your T. I’m in the US and I do talk to my T between sessions occasionally but it’s never anything deep if that makes sense, no therapy happens outside of the session.

Undiagnosed I Think I Have PTSD

Personally, doesn’t sound like PTSD to me, could be a million other things. Regardless, have you reached out to a therapist? Not necessarily one in a hospital, but one for outpatient treatment. I would start there. ****edited to add**** while trigger warnings aren’t necessary or even...

Did you choose a specific breed of dog?

Also, can I just say thank you? I have never been a fan of the “shopping” feel when looking for an animal. But this is so so so much better than the countless people I’ve seen on my Facebook that get a puppy (or kitten) because they’re cute and as soon as they realize there’s actual work...

Did you choose a specific breed of dog?

Ya, I haven’t owned one directly, but lived next door to two for years. They were the sweetest oafs ever and couldn’t care less to do, well, anything. As long as they were fed and had some comfy beds inside they were happy campers. I did own a Great Dane at one point, she had some energy being a...

Did you choose a specific breed of dog?

Great Danes and Newfoundland’s actually do make great apartment dogs in spite of their size because they are lazy as hell. And the biggest cuddle bugs ? but seriously lazy.

Asking the police to search the dark web?

I’m really with @Sideways on this, giving those addresses to authorities could give immense help in countless other cases. I do understand the scariness and vulnerability of not knowing if there’s something out there of you. Or knowing there is but you have zero control over it. For those...

Emerg Services Stress for the stressed

They can cost a little more around here but more often than not they will be willing to work out deals. Not to mention, we just came out of a nasty quarantine that had them out of work so you can probably find some just wanting to get back to work.

Emerg Services Stress for the stressed

I don’t know if guilt tripping your spouse into being willing to work with training is okay with you or not but- you can remind your spouse that with the dog having fear aggression he will be put down. His chances of being adopted out with that is extremely low and shelters just don’t have the...

Emerg Services Stress for the stressed

He’s more than likely feeling her stress and reacting to it, there’s several videos on YouTube you can learn from if she’s really adamant about not working with a trainer ?. Victoria if It’s Me Or The Dog is fantastic and so is Cesar Milan, he’s been a tad controversial in some things but he is...

Emerg Services Stress for the stressed

Fear aggression is absolutely overcome-able, not sure if that’s a word but whatever. But your spouse has got to get on board with it. It’s got to be teamwork, raising a pet is much like raising a child, you have to work together. Same with the marriage, it’s a team effort and if someone isn’t...

Emerg Services Stress for the stressed

No ideas on stress in general. But two things: 1. Marriage counseling 2. Dog trainer 3. Personally my dog comes before any partner I may have cause I’m weird like that and I don’t apologize for it. But if she’s genuinely scared of your dog, a dog trainer will go a long way to helping out-...
