Understand AI use at MyPTSD: all AI use is explained in our AI help page. AI use is by choice here. It exists if you want it, but does nothing unless you choose to use it.
The old adage if it walks like a duck, talks like duck then it is a duck. So yes pattern recognitions is important for our survival especially. The problem is when we fill in the blanks like in between the 4 dots to create a pattern like a square or a dice. There is no pattern, its only 4 dots...
Personally I have never believed in "looking for someone" like you are going on a hunt. I do my thing, do what I enjoy and if someone comes along that path and wants to share a stretch of road with me then we can partner up until our path takes us in different direction. All the relationships I...
It sounds like you have been hurt before. Normal reaction to paint the whole world as bad, makes it easier on the brain to protect yourself. Less work discerning what is good and bad. The way I deal with it is the world is not bad, the world is sick/suffering. Just like us. We are not bad, we...
Were you recently diagnosed with ptsd? I finished a course a month ago and it was so stressful I had to spend two weeks in bed to recover. Nerve exhaustion is real.
It's great you are finding this helpful. Like I said pace yourself. It's a great place for support but you can get absorbed and get even more triggered. Listen to your body, if you feel you need a break, you probably need it. Self care is important. Your job can wait, your health cannot.
The more you read on this site, the more you will realize what you are going through is normal. Take your time, pace yourself. Have you considered some time off work?
yeah human rights is the way to go. Make sure you document everything, date, times, names. It is discrimination. I have always wondered though, if the company is like that, is that who you want to work for though? It sucks when you need a job, but it's pretty telling where they are at.
Yeah people think it's easy to sit there and listen to people, but giving your undivided attention to someone for 50 minutes, listening to horror stories, all while managing your own bias, feelings, triggers is not an easy gig and that is the easy part. Add to this death threats, assaults...
Was a mental health worker for 15 years. Got diagnosed with ptsd caused by my work (some crazy shit happened). Now workers compensation is keeping me from going back. It's probably a good idea I don't go back but when it's not your choice to leave and it's imposed on you it sucks. What now? I...
Colors make you blind, sounds make you deaf. I avoid saying I am... As soon as you define yourself as such you limit your life experience. The reality is at times I do good things, at times I do things that don't work out, at times I cook a good meal at times I cook shitty meals. At times I say...
It will do exactly that. She explains it's a gift and a curse. Kinda like a ferrari, amazing machine but it could also kill you if you don't know how to use it. I think the book offered some concrete practical tips to practice to manage this super power you have. Some may not connect with you or...
Read an empats survival guide by Judy orloff. She is a psychiatrist and explains that phenomena. You are not wrong its a gift its like empathy on steroids. Good read. Good tips to cope
I dont think youn are wrong in assuming a gain in what people do. Next time someone does something kind for you don't look at them dont say thank you and walk away. See how the person react. Bet ya they won't be smiling. Transaction analysis explains that. We all attention, its vital for our...
Check this conference out guys on embodiment. Thousands of speakers (free) on various topics including trauma/ptsd. All sessions are 1hr long on zoom. I am not a presenter just a curious person expanding his knowledge. Checked it out today and found some useful stuff for me on ptsd. Hope this...
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I am not knowledgeable enough about the full spectrum of dissociation. I am more familiar with severe dissociation disorder such depersonalization and psychotic state which really I have never experienced. It's not that I can't do what I was doing, I have done...
I hear what you are saying. Thats why some days I feel wiser from that experience and feel it added to who I am rather then taking away from me. But other days for example I can't do karate which I have been practicing for 20yrs now. Its too much sympathetic activation at the moment. I can get...
