I think that it's awesome when people find something that works for them.
I have a few questions/ statements about therapy animals in general.
1. I get that they help, but I am TERRIFIED of dogs. If someone walked into a classroom with one I would probably leave class. There is one dog I can...
I think that as a sufferer if you're with someone who doesn't acknowledge that your trying, then it's time to reevaluate why you're with that person.
I know I lose my patience with D sometimes, but I know he tries every single day. Even if he just tries to wake up amd get out of bed. Even baby...
I've been thinking about this since I've posted...and I'd like to add a bit more.
I understand that there are hard days...days where the anxiety and depression is unbearable. BUT it is NOT okay when I am not allowed to have a bad day as well. My bad days obviously aren't the same, but they...
I think this will be different for everyone....personally, I won't accept it when my partner doesn't try. It's not acceptable to just give up on treatment.
I went to a hot yoga class with a friend from work yesterday.
Today I made a cheesecake...it was for D but baking is something I enjoy doing. So him ring overly excited amd practically jumpig up and down for it is just an added bonus. ;)
I've recently started doing a form of yoga called Bikram Yoga (also known as hot yoga).
It is an AMAZING stress reliever.
It's 90 minutes long in a ro heated to 104 degrees (farenheit) with 45% humidity. It sounds a bit like torture...the first couple sessions were! Lol....but after my body...
Hey ohdear, welcome to the forum.
My fiancé is also a combat vet with PTSD.
I'd suggest, as the previous posters, not to wake him.
My fiancé just the other week was having a nightmare, I was awake and moved a bit in bed...that must have startled him because he hit me square in the face. He...
Walking on eggshells consumes my life some days.
I love my fiancé more than anythig, but things are still hard a lot of the time.
Is he seeing a therapist?
So he wad in the Army and got out for you? Sorry to be so straight forward, but that isn't possible if he's in the US.
Did you know he had PTSD when you started dating? Is he seeking treatment?
If you can't handle him talking about things, then you probably shouldn't be with him. Being in a...
Very cool tattoos!
I have 11 myself.
Each one has a special meaning to me.
You may want to check out the thread 'Tattoos Anyone?' I started it a while back and there are some pretty awesome pictures.
Thanks for your apology. I wasn't really offended, but I appreciate what you said. :)
I was actually watching about this new thing they're calling "Facebook depression." Mostly affecting teens...these kids spend so much time on the Internet that they have no idea how to interact with people...
Hey Caliaviator. I'm not trying to be rude or a bitch or anything...but using the word retard like that isn't cool.
As for twitter. I used to feel the same way you do, until I used to connect with other peoe in the Autism and PTSD communities. I use it kind of how I use this forum, as a big...
Hey there.
My fiancé has combat related PTSD as well.
Good luck with the VA. If he has insurance or can afford it, I'd suggest going somewhere else. But if not, the VA will work.
Like Anthony said, it will get worse before you start to see any improvements. Hang in there though. It takes a lot...
Anthony, I couldn't agree more!
I get it's somewhat of a cultural thing...BUT I proofread papers in my college classes where people are typing u instead of you and have absolutely horrible spelling. I feel lime if you're that stupid your paper isn't even worth correcting.
"I wish there were a way to block minors so that they can't see me (liability protection) and I can't see them (that would filter out many annoying posts)!"
You can...just adjust your privacy settings.
Speaking as someone who grew up with myspace amd Facebook, I can say from experience that it has everything to do with parental guidance.
I wasn't allowed to have a myspace when that was the cool thing to do. (i was 13 or 14) So naturally I thought I was smarter than my
Mom and made one...

Welcome to the forum.
Being in a relationship with someone who has PTSD is a log bumpy ride. It can definitely work...with a lot of effort on your part.
Best of luck to you.
