I've had slow motion once, when I was really convinced I was going to get hurt.
I've felt like a passenger in my body, able to see what was happening but not to do anything.
Me personally, I've never had my perspective shift outside my body, but I know it does happen to people.
It sounds like people have wanted to support you. They don't always know how to support someone in ways that actually help. Given that you've been suffering for months, it does sound like it's time for professional help.
That's a really interesting point. My professional and academic success comes from breaking problems into parts and solving them one piece at a time. My ability to hold many separate ideas and treat them separately is critical to that.

The main things I want to say are:
- it's OK to be confused by something that is really confusing
- your therapist will benefit from a detailed and precise description of your confusion
- trained professionals who see you in person will usually do a better diagnosis than experienced sufferers...
