If they are asking for help, they are aware they want to escape the abuse (weather they know it is abuse or not). That doesn't necessarily mean leaving the abuser, it could be changing behaviour so s/he wont hit them, encouraging the abuser to get help or leaving. I used the word 'situation' to...
I'm not getting my partner a valentines day card. I'm not even sure which date valentines day falls on.. Have you previously explained to your partner that Valentines day is a big deal to you? Maybe he just doesn't get it.
Leaving an abusive relationship is difficult for many people. Sometimes people reach out for help and often receive responses like "you need to leave" or "if you don't leave the abuse will get worse and you may die". These kinds of comments are well meaning, but are they always helpful...
No
The short version is yes. Although difficult it is possible to get away. Do you think you should leave? Why / why not? What is stopping you?
Is there anything else you would like advice about?
I've never told my partner of 3 years that I love him. I don't love him in a romantic way although I do in other ways. He often tells me he loves me but to be honest I don't think that words are required to validate everything in life. The word 'love' has so many preconceptions attached to it...
I often feel agitated. During these times I'm extremely sensitive to noise and touch. Even from my children or partner. Things that would not normally bother me become irritating or even drive to the point of being enraged. So far my only healthy coping strategy is to curl up in bed with a...

@scout86 I don't know much about add / adhd. I thought those disorders were accompanied by excess physical energy. I'll do Some research.
@Solara Neurotherapy Sounds like a Promising option. I'm going to see if I can find someone to do it In my area. Can it be done by a Psychologist?
@Rebel Girl I use distraction as a coping technique too. Especially at night when i try to sleep, but end up laying awake for hours with whatever's upsetting me on my mind.
Meanwhile Sam and Benjamin were observing the camp from a distance. Six brown tents were weathered and broken. Vines had begun to weave their way through the collapsing shelters. A Seventh tent stood firmly upright.
You are not inadequate. Those people you spoke to are just on different paths. They don't know what it's like to walk in your shoes. Their comments don't apply. You were just in a room with the wrong crowd of people. A bit like being a Justin Bieber concert full of teeny boppers and wondering...
Does your mind constantly race and require stimulation all the Time?
I can't just do one thing at a time. When reading I'll switch between 3 - 4 articles at the same time. Simple tasks like doing the dishes are so boring I have to play a documentary in the background. When having a...
today i was a bit of a mess but managed to do some household chores. Cooked Some meals to put in the freezer. Cooked all of the family Meals and played with the kids. This is Just every day stuff but today it was an accomplishment to do anything.
So true seedling. I find anger is a great motivator for getting things done around the house and garden but anxiety leaves me unable to do even the smallest tasK. It is such a waste of energy
I got them to bed eventually anđ even managed to pack up all of the cubbies and paper planes they had made. No idea how i did that much. Im freaking out about how much more there is to do but just cant.

Thanks @J_trustno1 I really appreciate you taking the time to reply to my post when you are also having a difficult time. I've never tried yoga but will look up some basic stuff to try.
