Realize the original post is 4 years old. Thank you for posting your experience. I will check into victims compensation where I live to see if I could get help paying for a service dog.
I was able to listen to meditation music on my mp3 player prior, during and after surgery. Used the mediation music during different times when needed in my hospital room. When I first was getting out of bed it was painful. Put my headphones on and was able to relax before getting up and then...
Thank you, I learned a lot from previous experience and wanted to make sure I give information so they know what to do. I had a wonderful therapist who helped me with the plan. I learned so much from this experience and what I need to do to tighten it up further. I ended up having inadequate...
After 4 surgical experiences in 3 years. I do have trauma history dating back to childhood. After 2 out of 3 surgeries (out patient) bad experience (because they did not know how to handle the situation made the situation worse and I dissociated and couldn't ground myself) for the last one which...
Paxil for me was the worst of all the medications I got off of. Even tapering off withdrawals were not pleasant. Ringing in the ear, sensitivity to light and sound, increased anxiety, etc. I am so glad I was able to get off medication. Been 12 years since I have been off paxil. I am the one who...
I did an overnight sleep study. It was interesting reading the results. The first study I was only able to sleep 2.5 hours so I ended up needing to redo the study. The second study I slept 202 min, which is about 3.5 hours, thats even with a sleeping pill Lunesta.
Sleep onset latency was...
I was on Paxil from Jan. 1997-August 2000. I tapered the medication down very slowly, then when I finally was off of it I experienced sensitivity to light and sound. I had to keep my head under the blanket for a week. I even had static in my ears. Was very irratated. This lasted for a week and a...
All the Information below is from a handout I recieved. I thought it might be helpful.
DISSOCIATION
Dissociation appears as a fixed stars with glazed eyes. People say things to you such as, "You're dizzy," "You sure are spacy," "Where did you go?" or "Earth to Mary." Dissociation is used...
The hardest part is that my dad had two felony counts and was able to plea bargain down to misdemeaner battery. Feb. 1992 my dad was sentenced to the county Jail and with 5 months suspended. The court granted work release for the remaining 30 days if enrolled in a program. He was out of the home...
I am about ready to just give up. I am so fustrated with all my papers for my English class. I am already confused about my own family on top of that I am dealing with confusion about my papers. I either get compliments on my paper which is no help, because I know there is something academically...
I can relate. When my PTSD symptoms becomes worse I tend to avoid things such as phone calls. Even though I get this way I don't miss a class. I do have one close friend who puts up with me. I do in time return a phone call.
I find it is easier to help others then to ask them for help.
I am not looking for feedback or anything about the paper. I just wanted to share something. This paper was inspired from a flashbacks I had a lot over the summer. Triggered off from another traumatic event and dealing with the legal system again (Thank goodness this time I was kept out and...
I was on that combination back in 1998. I gained a 100lbs. One of the side effect of depakote is hair lose. I was on Paxil from Jan. 1997-Aug. 2000. Paxil was a nightmare to withdraw from. Even doing it slowly. For a week and a half, I had static in my ear, sensitivity to light and sound. After...
Unfortantly, Seeking_Nirvana, I am not able to PM right now even though I could use your help. I lost the privalage last week.
Last week my stress level was sky high over the evaluation paper last week, when I get that way I tend to more fearful and sensitive. I don't like it when I go into...
I guess it is for the best that I will wait until the semester is over before coming back to this site, I have already made such a mess. When I am not under so much stress and can think clearly. Also when the holidays are over with. I will come back, only when I can contribute better on this...
By the way the paper has not been assigned yet. I have an English Tutor and other resourses to help me. I should not have brought it up on this site. I don't expect people to have the answers. Which was a big mistake and I have regreted it ever since posting this topic.
Apologies
I would also like to apologize for the big scene, I was just upset and overreacted. I said a few things in a couple of posts that I shouldn't have. I now regrete typing some of the things I did. Such as capitalizing sentences, which is considered yelling. If I could I would take out...
By the way when I did the Student with PTSD thing. Not just asking people about themeselves, I was sharing things about myself. In the proccess it opened up my eyes that I am not alone with my stuggle of going to school with PTSD. It was in a way comforting to me. That there are people who do...
By the way I do have an English tutor and other resorces. I DO NOT want someone to do my homework for me. My my stress level increases I become more impolsive and more fearful. Also more sensetive
I AM SO SORRY! I am just dealing with a lot. I guess nobody read my essay about "Courage to Move Forward". I was sharing a story about myself with my essay. I GUESS NOBODY CARED THAT I FINALLY OPENED UP and shared something that was one of the tramatic experience in my life. I deal with stress...
