    Ptsd and sensory overload

I just bought a pair for the Mrs. She doesn't have noise sensitivity nearly as bad as me, but she does have some. SO... I bought her a pair for Christmas. She mentioned she would use them at times in the noisier places like a restaurant we visit from time to time. I talk louder when I wear mine...

    Ptsd and sensory overload

My Clozonapam helps me marginally. I still have the reactions, just the urgency is dampened a little.

    Ptsd and sensory overload

For me, they are pretty light for their size and overall in general. I love them.

    Ptsd and sensory overload

Almost 7 years later after my opening post. Thank you, everyone, who has joined in on the thread. I still suffer from noise sensitivity and occasional hypersensitivity. Physical sensory overload is still a pain in the ask. I can't touch any soft foam, certain fabrics and textures still freak me...

    Difficult co-worker

If you are her manager, straight up fire her for causing a hostile work environment. That is my 2 copper. Make sure you document what she does first so if she challenges it, you have paperwork to cover your self.

    Other Diabetes and PTSD

For me (insulin dependent type 2) stress and blood sugar control go hand in hand. If I well rested with low stress, my blood sugars are not as bad. If I'm fatigued and stressed, my blood sugars are far worse. Each person is different, but this is a trend I have noticed for others as well.

    Gabapentin/Neurontin Advice

Gabapentin... Never again for me. I was on the max prescribable dosage. I'm not the best at taking my meds on schedule. I used to often forget for a day or more, I'm better now. Back when I was on Gabapentin it was not unusual to forget to take it for 3 days. NEVER more than 3 days because on...

    Slash your tyres kinda woman

Slashing tires. I know two people who were badly injured by tires exploding. One was a young lady in my squadron who didn't understand/know what she was doing and overinflated her tire until it blew up. It broke her arm in several places and broke two ribs and cracked two more, she got a minor...

    The advantages/disadvantages of service dogs.

Just checking in about my service dog. I haven't been to this site in a while. I've had my SD for 3 1/2'ish years now. Most places I go to are used to me and my SD now. I've had two incidents/confrontations in the last month. One I am looking for a lawyer because I was forced to leave after a...

    The advantages/disadvantages of service dogs.

Please just remember. Training or self training a service dog is a near a full time job. Old tasks not often performed must be kept in training if you intend to ever need them. Every time you go out with the dog, or at least weekly it is a good idea to refresh something in it's tasks list just...

    The advantages/disadvantages of service dogs.

Generally and legally speaking, a service dog is trained to help mitigate your disability(s). If you can get on along without a service dog, it will be much harder to prove you need one if it ever becomes a legal issue (work, public access, etc). Being a fireman, you obviously can't take a dog...

The Ship, The Storm And The Monsters.

I have been inactive for some time now, but this site and it's members are often on my mind. This site over the years has helped me increadibly. This is something I've been kicking around in my head to better explain myself to my mental health providers for a long time now. I was finally able...

Apathy And Loss Of Libido As A Side Effect Of Ssri (in My Case Prozac)

The Sri, Ssri, or Snri wore off for me in a day usually enough to get the job done. I'd take a "holiday" once a week for a little fun. All work and no play makes jack a dull boy. Are you taking any other medications that could affect your libido? If not, and it's been two months, I'd ask a doc...

    Sri, Ssri, Snri Adaptation?

Been on effexor, and most of the other meds, same story. 'bout two to three months, then useless. I had a small prescription for Abilify over 10 yrs ago or so. It worked great for me, loved it. Can't remember what it was prescribed for, or why it was stopped. It was before PTSD and it's friends...
