    Sufferer 9-11

It's really important to get establish with a therapist and psychiatrist who both specialize in ptsd. I understand completely about preferring to be isolated. Unfortunately that's pretty normal with pts. A.R.T therapy has good results. It's like EMDR, but focuses on a different method to...

    Police medical retirement

Find out how to start the process of medical retirement at your agency. If it was caused by an on duty incident or incidents, you may qualify for workers comp. Best route is to get a knowledgeable attorney to help guide you if you are able. Likely the agency will want an MD (psychiatrist) to...

Anyone try Ketamine assisted therapy with PTSD & ADHD?

It's my understanding they go by body weight and slowly increase the dose as your treatments progress. Different Dr's may be different. At high doses I was having trouble with balance walking out of the office, but the symptoms wore off in a few hours for me.

Anyone try Ketamine assisted therapy with PTSD & ADHD?

I have had Ketamine therapy and it helped with depression. However, I think I was given too much and while under the influence during more than one treatment, I had bad experiences. During the last treatment, a "portal" opened up and I saw myself laying in a casket. I could not move, did not...

    Feeling isolated

This is unfortunately the norm. If I had the choice, I would have rather had a physical injury also. I had a horrible incident in 2011 and it took 6yrs to catch up to me. My final event was our staff trying to discipline an employee who was protected under ADA. What finally got my attention...

    Feeling isolated

I can understand that. People don't understand hidden injuries or worse, don't believe they exist, so there's usually no support from work peers.

    Feeling isolated

I was diagnosed in 2017 and medically retired from a 22yr career in law enforcement. Over the years in LE, the friends I had before I started the job pretty much disappeared. Those that have worked in LE will understand this. Well since retirement, I've tried reaching out to make new...
