    Social Anxiety Syndrome (sas)

I've dealt with social anxiety my whole life, and I can live a totally normal life now. I had a hard time communicating with people until I was 17. It suddenly got a lot better when I dealt with some of the other stressors in my life. So maybe dealing with other things stressing you out can help...

Went Shopping For A New Car :)

6 months after being in a terrible car accident, I've started shopping around for a new car so I can make the hour long commute to school starting in a couple months. I'm so proud that I'm even thinking about driving that much again.

Anxiety And Depression After Trauma, Afraid To Move Out

That sounds exactly like what I am looking for! Now I know it is out there. The person I'm going to said she does CBT but I didn't know how it worked so I wasn't sure if she was doing that or not. I think she is more of a talk therapist for people to work out relationship issues with.

Anxiety And Depression After Trauma, Afraid To Move Out

I was hoping for someone to sit down and help me pinpoint the specific things causing my anxiety and then give me advice on what could help me fix the anxiety. I was hoping they would have experience with what works and doesn't work to fix anxiety and be able to advise me on what would be...

Anxiety And Depression After Trauma, Afraid To Move Out

I have been diagnosed. I have been having PTSD symptoms for 4 months now. I am going to therapy but I'm not sure if I could be going to a better therapist. It just wasn't was I was hoping for in therapy, but I am sticking with it. I've had an improvement in symptoms since going, I'm just not...

Anxiety And Depression After Trauma, Afraid To Move Out

I was away at college until 6 months ago when I was in a terrible car accident. I moved back in with my parents while I was physically recovering. I have had an absolutely terrible time recovering mentally though. I already had bad anxiety, and it has not gone away but I now get episodes of...

This May Sound Strange, But I Miss My Major Anxiety And Panic Attack Time Period

I had the exact same feelings a couple of months ago. I dealt with pretty bad anxiety for 3 years, then went through a traumatic event and had increased and additional periods of depression. The depression for me was far worse than the anxiety. Here is what I noticed: I think it is impossible...

Crippling Driving Anxiety, Can't Work Or Go To School

I was in a bad car accident almost 5 months ago. I don't remember most of the accident, but just some vague images and the strong emotions that I experienced. Right after the accident, I was not in good shape physically, but felt fine mentally. I actually had bad anxiety beforehand, and it went...

Undiagnosed New To The Forum, Car Accident Ptsd

@kilp : Thank you for this post - It is somehow reassuring to hear of other people going through the same thing. Though it makes me sad to hear of all the other people dealing with such hard things, it is so helpful to hear from someone further along and doing better. I like what you said about...

@Notsowild I am not taking any meds, and so far am pretty adamant about not going on any. I've always learned to control my anxiety naturally, and am hoping to do the same this time. I have really been thinking about yoga, it seems like it could be very helpful. When I am in a little better...

Undiagnosed New To The Forum, Car Accident Ptsd

@Notsowild : I am not yet working, but I am looking for a job. I am a little physically restrained still, but hopefully can find something. I am taking a couple classes at a community college though. It has technically been a month since I started experiencing symptoms of stress from the...

Undiagnosed New To The Forum, Car Accident Ptsd

I'm not labeling it as PTSD yet I guess. I don't know how it works, but I would say I'm experiencing severe stress from a traumatic event. I dealt with different kinds of anxiety before my accident - mostly panic attacks over some OCD. Now I've had stress where I am very on edge when I drive...

Undiagnosed New To The Forum, Car Accident Ptsd

Yes, I am really hoping to get a hold of this before it can get worse! I slept a ton right after the accident, probably because my body was recovering from physical injuries, but I've still been making sure to get enough sleep at night and sometimes I even nap during the day as well.

Undiagnosed New To The Forum, Car Accident Ptsd

Hi, I'm brand new to this website and new to dealing with PTSD. However, dealing with anxiety is very familiar to me. I was in a car accident about 7 weeks ago and about 2 weeks after the accident I started feeling anxiety and stress. I've dealt with bad anxiety already for the last few years...
