Too funny! How do you handle the mansplaining?

Vent about dating: Where are the nice safe partners?! How do I find them?

Yeah....it’s a numbers game. I woke up to You Do You by Zayde Wølf. It inspires but then I’m headed out to the AT for 60 days solo with my service dog. I met a lot of interesting men in prep for this trek, just friend material for future adventures. I prefer military and law enforcement so...

    Poll Reasons for military PTSD

Thanks. There are A LOT of males that experience MST which is why PTSD is a major factor. I mentor in a veterans treatment court....shit happens. This is why I felt that it is important to mention MST to you. Again, thanks!!

    Poll Reasons for military PTSD

@Simon Marc , military sexual trauma should be on the poll. So should career sabotage ( being held up for promotion, all females in squad bring chaptered out of the military, having CSM call next duty station to warn them that you’re coming)

    How to make actual friends

Here's what I've been implementing into my life: Monthly lunches scheduled to share a laugh with another. I knew this tech at a place who was transferring to another place with career progress. She commented that she'd miss me because I was always so nice to everyone when I came in to the...

Relationship Creating Space with MST/PTSD & combat PTSD

Just an update,....I decided that I was better in managing my PTSD symptoms alone. It turns out that I really prefer the (fun) drama of living with my cat and service dog on a daily basis.

Relationship Creating Space with MST/PTSD & combat PTSD

@Freida, I was looking for a buddy to hike the AT,.....lol. We created a "baseline" that somehow went horribly wrong in that we really get along well together. That first "meeting" took about fourteen hours. It's been a quite interesting development, to say the least, for both of us. We both...

Relationship Creating Space with MST/PTSD & combat PTSD

GREAT IDEAS!! Thanks. When I see him next (voluntary inpatient for combat trauma) we’ll start developing these parameters for when he returns in a couple of months. Fortunately we’ll have the space and time to develop this before he moves in with me because there has to be a reality check in...

Relationship Creating Space with MST/PTSD & combat PTSD

I'm a vet with PTSD getting involved with another vet with combat PTSD....we're both active in our individual therapies and inspire each other to be healthier. We want to move in together. I have a home that I am remodeling (that should be an insanity check right there) and we have physical...

Do you tell the truth in therapy?

Here's what I said to a vet that tried to downplay symptoms after describing what happened: "Do you think that's a normal day at work?!" after trying to tell me that having the last remaining strong point was described as "The Alamo". Develop a version of June Cleever, and then compare what you...

Do you tell the truth in therapy?

Too often we vets want to downplay the truth because none of us want to appear incompetent. We’re hardwired like that. Try coming at it from a different direction. Get people who knew him prior to and after his military time to pen letters and submit them into his file. WRITE what you witness...

Ok, Tuesday 14 May 2019. Two days after Mother's Day. I don't work so I can do literally any day.
