    Atheist unite!!

Ah yep, that was the name! I’m not usually following all this, so hence not fluent in nomenclature, but it had increasingly been mentioned and offered in a couple local FB groups, enough that I actually noticed :D

    Atheist unite!!

Guess where one of our case clusters is? Yep...one of our local churches. Churches had been exempt from stay-at-home orders, initially... Otherwise, we're having a pretty hippy-dippy community and jokes have been going around social media that they're gonna be safe...what with all...

Do you have E.S.P.? Or ....?

The human brain is really really really good at picking up cues and processing them (and storing the information for later) on a subconscious level. A brain that's been through trauma? Even more so. Because it has learned to be particularly watchful. Pair this with an observant personality and...

How to be honest with your therapist?

I know you guys here care and it means a lot  That's what peer support is about. I was more referring to...people IRL. And the World at large. Regardless of how I feel, the World will continue revolving around itself and the sun. I'm just one insignificant speck among billions of specks...

Research Updated - Participate in a study to understand daily emotions and PTSD symptoms

I've been told by the questionnaire that I'm not eligible. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also, just as a fellow scientist, I'm a little concerned about how representative two weeks of monitoring are during the current general state of emergency, but I'm sure you have advisors to discuss this question with :) Good...

How to be honest with your therapist?

Thank you all for your responses, many helpful comments and thoughts! (and yay me, I'm actually returning to a thread I started - not like usually where I write my initial post, maybe scan the first couple replies, but never to actually interact with it again  ) I'll revisit the written...

How to be honest with your therapist?

Since this is something quite a lot of us seem to be struggling with, I thought it might be worthwile to open a thread and collect tips how other's are dealing with or even have overcome this. I'm having a really hard time being completely honest about my internal state with my therapist. It's...

    Service dog handler lobby

That is not what I asked. I feel like I'm being willfully misunderstood, today. Am I speaking Korean or something?

    Service dog handler lobby

I need some input/help from those of you who are more well versed in the US laws than I am. I've gotten into a discussion online. Someone had shared a short video of their dogs running off-leash in a store. The store owner/manager is a friend of the owners and allowed it and the store was...

News Worldwide impact of the novel coronavirus (covid-19)

Yeah, thanks for telling me I have no common sense. Because stigma and prejudice tooootally aren't a thing, either. *shrug* Edit. Irrelevant. ETA2. I'm NOT saying DON'T blame China. Lot's of points for very justified criticism. All I'm saying is don't SOLELY blame China. Way too black and...

News Worldwide impact of the novel coronavirus (covid-19)

I do believe he has his intelligence sources. But it's ignorant to think China downplayed it while they were very open about it since early January -- while there is a track record of various governments all around the world not taking any of the early warnings serious. That's what I meant...

News Worldwide impact of the novel coronavirus (covid-19)

You keep citing experts and intelligence, yet you continue to not provide any actual sources. It's hard to just take your word for it, you know. I believe public and hence trace-able statements. With dates. I'm also a scientist. I prefer to have claims backed up with references. Anything else...

News Worldwide impact of the novel coronavirus (covid-19)

That is plain not true, though? China warned the world as early as early January. "The World" didn't listen. It's not China's fault for other government's negligence and ignorance. Trump downplayed the entire thing as late as March. There's your two months of mitigation strategy.
