welcome to the forum. I am so sorry that your symptoms have been re-triggered. Are you working with a therapist? What helped you in the past? I cannot speak for all, but symptoms for me are up and down. Take sweet care of yourself and good job for reaching out.
That is so tough. Glad she could come home and hoping some the options are able to give her quality of life. Take sweet care of yourself and give her lots of love.
I am so sorry. Humans can be evil and horrible. I was not tied up, but I was trapped for hours and still is a trigger for me. I have learned a lot about what I need or what I can do in situations not to feel trapped, but sometimes it sneaks up on me. Great job for working on this. Take sweet...
Absolutely...I used to always wear a hat, I definitely have certain things I wear when more triggered, feeling shameful, do not want to be seen...even my T has noticed.
Great job getting through it! It is very triggering to me. I feel trapped....Kind of weird cause not like I am going to jump out the window, but somehow with a window I feel less trapped.
So sorry that it is so rough right now. I get that desire to run and it so sucks to live in that level of fear. Hoping that you find something to take care of you over the next hours. Take sweet care of you.
That sounds super scary. I assume since you are in a strange city there is no one there you trust to talk with. Can you call someone from "home?" Do you have a T you can call? Are you safe in the space you are in? Please take care of you.
No real answer...just wanted to say I am sorry you are feeling so sad. For me personally the more I fight something the worse it is. For me better to let tears out...write or create art around what tears are for, but that is just me. Hope you are feeling better soon.
That is a lot of tough things! Try to be kind to yourself. I totally identify with those feelings. You also state you are tired and drinking so hoping that you can get some rest and give yourself some time and space. Take sweet care of yourself.
I am glad that you at least notice a difference some of the time. I think that is huge....and even bigger that you are still here! For me, Yes, with continued practice and working on knowing which skills work the best for me they have become invaluable. Do I still have times that they are not...
Therapy and working towards getting better is hard work. What about viewing it as another class? It is a huge part of what you need right now and requires a lot of energy and time. Giving yourself time to rest after I think in the long run will give you more energy for those other things you...
It does get better, not sure about "forgetting"...I think it is always a part of you, bet there is much more to you than what happened to you. learning to let tears flow has been important for me...there are times that is a release that is needed. It is hard when culture tells it us it is...
Trauma therapy can take many different forms. One of the most important things before stating is knowing how to ground yourself, having coping skills for when it is overwhelming and tough. Sometimes it is talking through memories, sometimes identifying negative core beliefs attached to your...
Welcome to the forum. As others have said take your time in looking around, comment as you feel comfortable. There is no time frame of when you have to share or comment. I hope that you find the support you want/need here.
I am so sorry you are struggling with flashbacks. They suck. It sounds like you know some physical things work better for you to ground....keep experimenting and find something that works for you to carry with you... a texture...some like smooth, some rough...a rock, fabric, etc. For me I know...
