    Memory and attention problems

Me too, aoca82! I've got c-ptsd and I'm fine as long as there are no noises, movement, or smells to trigger me. The minute the adrenaline pumps, I'm done, or should I say dumb. Very frustrating, very embarrassing. I haven't found a trick to fix this yet, but if i ever do, I'll be sure to let...

Research Nerve Block As Treatment For Ptsd

Best to call them and ask. His rate went up on January 1st. You pay him separate from the surgery center and anesthesiologist. Insurance will not cover because it's an off label treatment. I can't post his number here so do a Google of Dr. Eugene Lipov, Chicago, IL.

Stellate ganglion block (sgb) for ptsd treatment

I had two of them, only hours apart. According to Dr. Lipov's 2011 book, "Exit Strategy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder," the second injection goes into a different location, thereby controlling a second group of nerves that produce adrenaline. The second one did the trick for me.

Stellate ganglion block (sgb) for ptsd treatment

Yup, had it done in Chicago on DEC 15, 2017. Not the complete answer because you've still got to work on things, but it gets you to the point where you're able to do that. I highly recommend it.

Oh, Suzy, I feel so bad for you. So much to bear. Welcome to the group and I hope you find some comfort here.

Sufferer Another day, another coping method - childhood abuse & neglect, friend’s death, & sexual assault.

Welcome aboard, Angelica. I hope you find comfort here. I find comfort in that some doctors now view PTSD as a mental injury, not an illness. Somehow injury seems more "fixable" to me than does illness. Plus, it lessens the stigma of the label "mental illness" for me. One doctor went so far...

Sufferer Searching for life lessons - childhood abuse & adult rape

Welcome aboard, Rose. My history is much like yours, and I've found an amount of comfort here because of the opportunity to share, and to be validated by other people who unfortunately, have had similar experiences. ~Victory

Realizing how much distorted i am in my thinking and communication

Yup, me three! I'm in my 60s and love to write, but lately, as I'm finally getting my feet under me (I credit the Stellate Ganglion Block), I can't shut up. Well, that's a little bit of an exaggeration because any time I'm near members of my family, the people who criticized, poked fun of, and...

Anyone with experience relating to/coping with people who have bpd

I hope this isn't a duplicate response. I had a problem sending it in. Randi Krueger has several books out on BPD, the easiest to read being "Stop Walking On Eggshells." She also has an online support group called "Welcome to Oz" that I've found very validating and supportive (Both my mother...

Sufferer Good morning, everyone! childhood trauma from borderline mother.

Crushed, I;m so sorry to hear that this is happening to you. In my case, it's me who can't believe that the physical symptoms can be this serious from childhood induced PTSD. My husband, who is a Vietnam vet, my therapist, one of the doctors at Mayo, and my best friend who is a registered...

Sufferer Good morning, everyone! childhood trauma from borderline mother.

According to his book, less of the drug is used and it is injected near a different vertebrae than the standard SGB. I did not discuss the details of the procedure with him in person because I had read his book then assumed that the procedure I experienced was the same as the one he described...

I feel guilty for taking care of myself

Hey, Eve, I'm sorry that this is happening to you. Yes, I've been there, done that, and wasn't even given the t-shirt for all my efforts. My T once told me to step back and to ask myself what I would say if this were happening to a child. Would I scold the child for not stepping up to the...

What holds you back from healing?

Well put, Saraemerald. I. Agree. With. Every. Single. Word. You. Wrote. I'm throwing everything I've got into my healing and I'm confident I'll get there, but somedays the process is confusing and painful. Yes, after living a lifetime in pain, I really don't know who I am without it, but I'm...

Sufferer Good morning, everyone! childhood trauma from borderline mother.

Thanks for the hugs, Raph. Hugs are always welcome here! I did EMDR at least 3 times. It dulled the reactions enough that I could drive past her house without becoming ill for a few days. But then it started to wear off, and besides, why would I want to drive past her house? I found a...

    Christmas stockings/apologies

I don't buy the critters anything. My husband buys the house cat a gift and I sing to the cattle because they're pets too. Does that count? :)

Sexual Assault Do you ever feel lust for your molester or rapist later on?

I am not a doctor nor a therapist, but my best guess is that you're trying to reverse the trauma you've experienced by making the act your idea instead of theirs. The trauma is so severe and painful for you that you will do anything to neutralize it in your psyche, and who could blame you for...

Research Nerve Block As Treatment For Ptsd

I just had it done on Dec 15, 2017. I think it's worth it. The only pain was a slight sting when they inserted the IV needle. Was all done and out within 3 hours. You will need a second person along to get you in and back home. The effects felt subtle at first, but very real. I did have a...

    The day after therapy...

Dear Barefoot, I go through the same thing and agree that it's not pleasant. What I do is take notes either by hand or in a Word document that I keep on my laptop. I write down the date of my next session then start listing things that I did not understand from today's session or things that...

    Gaslighting & believing them

Are you familiar with Borderline Personality Disorder? The reason I ask is because my mother has it, and exhibits a lot of these same behaviors. I learned a lot about what it is and how to cope with it by joining Randi Kreger's forum Welcome to Oz. Here's a link to her stuff about this...
