    I'm Ready To Move Forward...

I marked that I "like" this only to say I read it. I and many, many others on the forum know what you mean with this quote. May I say that hopelessness can evolve into better things as time passes. You have made a major change for yourself. Yet you have yet to feel it's benefits. The...

    Cruelty And Guilt

Another thought here. If, as suggested, you have safely preserved every scrap of evidence mentioned above, you may at some time call his bluff by telling hime clearly that if ANYTHING, even not traceable to him, but ANYTHING that happens to your baby and you, all of the evidence will be made...

    I'm Ready To Move Forward...

Lotsa folks here with lotsa obstacles, and you are welcome among all of us. You don't have to look far for people who have faced the same situations and worked through them. You are young, smart and resilient. You may not have caused the problems with your ex, but you can fix them. Take your...

Beginning to think you may be right in this message. Well said. He seriously may be bluffing his ass off. The baby's DNA is his weak spot, other than his outrageous cowardice.

News When 'free Speech' Includes How To Rape

Good history. Just saying that the "fallen doves" helped keep the rowdies entertained. It was also a tradition, especially among the cowboys (many of whom actually were only boys who had left their mothers and sisters at home) to protect and respect any females. Some of the women along the...

    My husband died today

That is sound advice, though I know you may feel alone, even with your most supporting friends and family. Surely they all, as we do, wish they could help. From experience I know that some people are perhaps better equipped to say comforting words, but there are no words for what you feel...

    Mother

Good question. I'm curious how old and how healthy your mother is. If she's sensing her mortality, she could be hoping to make some too-late amends. Or she might just make excuses, which could compound your disappointment. Just take care of yourself. Her guilt is her problem.

    Cruelty And Guilt

@Casey_03, I flatly am astonished by the complexity of your situation. And unfortunately have little to suggest. One of the more striking features of what is happening is that you have apparently well-thought-out reason to believe that your baby and you, both U.S. citizens, might be safer in...

Genital Surgery: Ever Heard Of Hypospadias?

You are an angel for helping those parents and kids. There could be reasons why some parents choose not to get surgery for their babies early enough to minimize later trauma, but ignorance, family pride, or distrust of modern pediatric surgery are NOT valid reasons in most cases.

Genital Surgery: Ever Heard Of Hypospadias?

Thank you Lucycat. Genital anomalies in anyone can be the source of growing trauma, as long as people regard them as secret disabilities. I didn't mention this before, since it was irrelevant to hypospadias, but I later became sterile, also. Luckily, I was already a father of one before I...

Genital Surgery: Ever Heard Of Hypospadias?

Thanks Mit. Your message means a lot to me. Reliving the experiences in my head for others to understand has been a rocky trip, but I'm glad I 'm here, if others need my point of view. (I just hope they can skip over the irrelevant parts to get my real meaning). You gotta love your "work".

    I'm Ready To Move Forward...

Daisy, when I hit the like button, it doesn't always like the content. I means I'm listening. I keep hearing some of my own thoughts in your words. I wish you well. You are so young now. I don't mean that condescendingly. Youth is on your side. Take care dear. You will feel better. It...

Genital Surgery: Ever Heard Of Hypospadias?

OK. This could be my last shot at this monster unless someone asks questions. But if you should recall Kris Kristofferson's song "To Beat the Devil," you'll see that it's my anthem. ******** Because of such intense embarrassment as a child, the bullying, surgeries, infections, and general...

Genital Surgery: Ever Heard Of Hypospadias?

Thank you for your generous response. A factor I thought about in recent days is that at my age, I may be as alone with my own problems as ever. I am of an earlier generation than most others in the history of genital/surgical "repairs". I could be among the oldest people willing to talk...

Genital Surgery: Ever Heard Of Hypospadias?

Mit, I'm considering reviving the hypospadias thread, since I never got to the point of explaining how I think I have overcome some of my early trauma from growing up with the condition and the surgeries it required. I know somethings that have worked for me, and might work for some others...

Regretfully I Have Relapsed In A Big Way,

I second that. You might find it interesting that every time I see the title of this thread, and for seconds it takes me to realize who started it, I get a stab in the belly, recalling having been there. Then I snap to, and realize happily that its Laurie, coming up this mountain

    I'm Ready To Move Forward...

It takes time. You may find that being alone (for a while) will make you stronger to try again, when you want to. Grieve. But know the stages of grief, and know that some of the pain will fade. Being alone at times can be healing.

    I'm Ready To Move Forward...

Well. I gave the bad relationship I told you about 11 of my years. I do have the comfort that before my beloved wife of 14 years died of cancer, I was able to enjoy a genuinely happy marriage. I wish you and all such an experience--it can happen.
