    General Communicating about movies

Sometimes my guy strongly identifies with a character in a movie... and tells me that having ptsd he just feels like that guy about a thing. Often this is not even a movie where one of the characters has ptsd, often the guy is a vet... but often this is just some kind of background info that TO...

How do people from the US/Canada/Australia think about climate change?

I hope that is not impolite to mention this: I heard that the CO2 footprint Ofen average American is twice that of an average European. How do you feel about this and why do you think it is the case?

General Sigh... I am so tired today

@lostforgottensoul Thanks for your advice but I think earplugs aren’t for me. We have an alarm clock and also I want to know what’s going on... if my children need me.... (if my vet needs me). I realized that my posts make it look as if I never get any sleep. That is actually not true but when...

General Sigh... I am so tired today

That would be so nice @Friday but I have so many to-dos. Still very tired, still many to-dos today. @LuckiLee Well, it depends. He doesn’t always do the same things. Sometimes he wakes up screaming. I don’t think I have to explain why that wakes me up. But I also have a light sleep and...

How do people from the US/Canada/Australia think about climate change?

Is this something discussed in your countries? How do you think about it?

Relationship May I ask.... is your sufferer horrible nearly all of the time when they are with you?

To be honest: No, he is not. Most of the times he is actually very nice and he rarely ever is horrible. Sometimes he likes to nag. Sometimes he is stressed and very annoying by asking the same question over and over again (like if I am sure if there is no bacteria on X or Y, he also has a thing...

General Sigh... I am so tired today

?????I did not sleep much this night because he did not and that always keeps me up, his stupid alarm clock rang at 0530 this morning, the day before that my guy was drinking a lot this weekend and stayed up until the early morning hours with a friend (and they started shouting, I mean not...

General Rant and complain thread open to all supporters

Sorry that I did not read the last posts (will do so soon) and I just use this for a quick rant. So we went to a Café/coffee bar/coffee house/cafe shop (I never know the difference between the words, how is this called where they serve you coffee and cake?) and the waitress talked veeeeeery...

    General Fear of blackouts

I guess you are right. How did it happen to him that he was able to accept things as his “new normal“? I mean: how was he able to finally turn away from “that has to change“ and accept “it is like this“? ? Sometimes I really wish my English was better. That is something both me and Vet wish for.

General Rant and complain thread open to all supporters

There it is: my rant and complain thread. Rant No. 1: Today in the news: Scientist say dodge ball is “traumatic“ and they mean it like that and want it to be abolished. I never liked dodge ball but: 1) I have no problem with people saying something is traumatic in jest... but they mean it like...

    General Fear of blackouts

I think my guy doesn’t like being hypervigilant. Sometimes he likes being vigilant and sometimes I think he wants to be like “sheeple“ (as he calls people who are not hypervigilant at all). He also doesn’t embrace or accept it. It is something that happens to him. So to so speak.

OCD Obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours

I think it is only OCD if it cannot be explained by hypervigilance.

    General Fear of blackouts

It sounds like your vet enjoys being hypervigilant a bit. Mine often doesn’t like it because he knows other people aren’t and then he feels like something wrong with him... and also he doesn’t like to be worried and stressed out. BTW Because you mentioned canned peanut butter enjoy that canned...

Relationship Being a supporter and suffer / Husband has been diagnosed

So he changed before the trauma? Did I get this right? In this case I think The trauma cannot be the reason for the changes.

    General Fear of blackouts

I just wonder if any of your guys or any of the spouses suffer from fear of blackouts. I mean not psychological blackouts but power black outs. Sorry for my poor English. Do you know what I mean? We (and I hope most other people in our country) are prepared for a black out. Something that has...

    General What are they thinking?

I am very sorry. I hope that I do not say the wrong thing here but you just do not kill people on accident on civvy street. It just doesn’t happen. How do you exactly think that it will happen? I know that my vets theories how it would happen are quite absurd like: “I be infected with a germ...

General My world has imploded and I have an apology to make to those here who supported me.

You are never to blame for another persons choices. Only the person himself is. You did the right thing by supporting a person you thought that needed you. @nursenurse I am pretty shocked. I remember reading the older post a while ago and reading how your guy had his best friend dying in his...

    General Just need to vent

But you agree with me that a lot of people do not like crowds. So my point is: We came to visit then and my husband didn’t want to come to the village fair... shouldn’t they have known that it was because he cannot cope with crowds? I mean: what other explanations could there be? I wonder if...

    General Just need to vent

May be I am wrong but I think that quite a number of Vets... also the ones who do not have ptsd... do have problems with crowded places... and also lot of people who aren’t vets often do... and what other reasons should there be for his behaviour? But then I remember I did not get the my vet...

    General What are they thinking?

He is actually afraid that people will commit suicide because of him which sometimes in turn makes him feel suicidal.

    General Just need to vent

Yes, this is so true. He chose not to go because he would feel miserable... which I know and I am not sure if they know but I think they could know if they would spend more thoughts on it... because why would he drive there just to sit in the garden and play with his cell phone? Which is my...

    General What are they thinking?

Hey, cannot really contribute. Apart from telling my Vet has endless list and reminders so that he always knows what to do in the next days. He found it very helpful. But I have two questions: 1. I am not sure if I truly what dissociation is. Vet says he doesn’t have it but if he doesn’t notice...

    General Left a supporters group.

@EveHarrington Not only face book but the whole internet... and sometimes the whole world *lol*... I think most people just aren’t very smart or thoughtful. Sorry to be that negative. One the other hand I get why they are unhappy and need to talk about their relationship and what can they...

    General Just need to vent

Vent No. 1: We had a number of (minor) misfortunes during the last week. Nothing really big or bad... some of them even funny... well at least if you aren’t the one to whom it happens but the one who only hears the story being told. However we are just so tired and done. ? My vet sleeps very...
