    Sufferer New Here - Cptsd

@Tiffany2 - I've been in EMDR weekly for 7-8 months now, and I find that it's like peeling layers off an onion. I'm just getting into some of the deepest, darkest feelings of pain and suffering, so it's been really intense and incredibly overwhelming. I compartmentalized all of my feelings for...

How To Get Close To Others

Welcome, @Little_Big I'm new here, too, but so far this has been a wonderful, supportive place. I'm sorry that you are feeling such pain right now. I feel like that so often! You are not alone. It's been slowly but surely for me, and I still fear being vulnerable with most people. Maybe...

    Sufferer Struggling To Cope

That's so awesome that you are in school!!! But I'm sorry to hear that you are struggling. If Olanzapine helps, maybe you could try it short-term (even if you hate it) just so it won't be so hard right now. Maybe your doctor could help you think about what you want to do. Please know you are...

    Finished Practicum

Exactly what @Zoogal said! You will really "get it" and be able to offer insight that others who haven't been there may not be able to give. Good luck!

Does Anyone Have Really Specific Triggers?

Thank you for sharing! It's good to know I'm not alone! It's been rough lately. I'm going to try a bodyworker (somatic kind of person) to see if they can help.

    Intense fear and sobbing

Just remember, you are not alone. A difficult work environment can really suck the life out of anyone. Maybe even taking a long weekend could help? When I feel trapped, I try to look for ways that I'm not trapped (even though it seems impossible). If I'm in a bad job, I make sure to take breaks...

Does Anyone Have Really Specific Triggers?

I found this site yesterday, and it's already been so encouraging to see that I'm not alone, and there is so much support and understanding coming from the members. It's wonderful <3 I feel embarrassed to write all of this, but I have an irrational fear of not having money. In my mind, money...

    Intense fear and sobbing

I'm so sorry! I get it! I was barely able to drag myself out of bed for a while, and work sometimes feels like it takes everything I have. I have no idea if this is an option for you, but when I was hardly functioning, my therapist suggested that I go on medical leave. I don't know if you have...

These Panic Attacks Are Driving Me Crazy

I am so sorry, Marla. Anxiety is AWFUL. I often say that I would sell a body part to get rid of it. I am currently doing EMDR. For the single incidents that are more recent, it was basically like a cure. What I'm running into is layers of old, compartmentalized stuff, so that's been really...

    Sufferer New Here - Cptsd

@Berlinda - That sounds like a wise decision to wait until you feel ready. EMDR can be extremely intense, and the processing that one continues to do out of therapy can almost be even more intense. It has helped a lot, but there are definitely peaks and valleys.

Normal People Are The Worst Amirite?!

You are not bad or a failure. I think all these "I'm bad" thoughts (I have them, too) are the PTSD talking. We all have lower thresholds for stress, and it sounds like you had a lot of stress/pain to deal with. That was awesome that you were able to be present and feel what you feel. That's a...

    Sufferer New Here - Cptsd

Hi! I am so thankful to have found this site. Long history of CPTSD/anxiety. It's been really hard lately. I have been doing EMDR for 6 months, and it really has changed my life in a lot of ways. However, it seems to have opened up some really intense emotions that I have buried for a long time...

Normal People Are The Worst Amirite?!

Thank you all for sharing. I feel the same way. I guess the upside of hypervigilance and being forced into constantly changing situations and environments (15-20 schools, being sent away 7x, etc.) is that I learned early on to "read" people, so I am usually able to blend in at work, in social...
