Poll Has PTSD Caused You To Attempt Suicide?

Yes this time on Oct 31. Everything had crashed, but at least I'm still alive.

Poll Has PTSD Caused You To Attempt Suicide?

Let's see-soon to be homeless, job market sucks, dreams every night and thoughts daily of what happened years ago...and to top it all I am past the point of caring.

Poll Has PTSD Caused You To Attempt Suicide?

Going through some trying moments and got the notice of a reply to this thread, which I replied to 3 years ago. Guess there are some guardian angels somewhere, thanks.

What Happens When You Miss Your Meds?

Depends on which one I miss-if I skip the beta blocker the heart pounds out and my anxiety goes off the hook. Skip a dose of Trazodone if I want to stay up all night... I'm starting to dislike pills. Feel weak for taking them sometimes.

Poll Do You Sleep With Alot Of Covers?

Feather down for me during Spring, Fall and Winter. Summer is high thread count sheets. At work in Winter it's heavy wool blankets and the heater cranked up to 30c in my stateroom.

    Meds - Buspar For Anxiety?

Hey Trapped, Mine is split up 3 times a day, 10 mg at a time. It takes a while to soak in, that's one reason so many people discontinue it as you don't get an immediate effect like you do with other anxiolytics. My Pdoc said it would take 2-3 weeks but I started feeling some relief from the...

    Meds - Buspar For Anxiety?

I would not sweat the Rozerem, the only good thing about that med is the commercial. It works for some but in my case it did not do anything for insomnia the few times I tried it.

    Meds - Buspar For Anxiety?

Thanks for the info rallynut78. My Pdoc placed me on a small dose of Trazodone, and it's working for insomnia and the reoccurring daily flashbacks that I have been dealing with these last few months.

Poll Has PTSD Caused You To Attempt Suicide?

Voted no as I know all too well what happened to my mind and life when I found the body. I spent way too many years trying to figure out why this was put on me, which is a moot point as there is no answer to the question. For people who think it's so bad you have to end it, try to remember...

New To Medication and Very Scared

Great advice posted here, I can only stress that you read up on meds and their effects before starting. For me it's been a gamble trying to find one that plays nice, as side effects/withdrawal can be very unpleasant.

Should the Person(s) Who Traumatized You Be Punished for What They Did?

I wished him dead verbally when I was being abused one late afternoon, within a few days he ended my life of torture via a bullet. So yeah, I guess you could say that I do have some insight. Not being a smartass in the reply, so please don't get me wrong. I should have elaborated a bit more on...

Poll At What Age Were You Diagnosed with PTSD?

I was diagnosed the first time when I was 12, but when you're a kid they don't tell you much and I would not have understood what the Dr was talking about anyway. To me it was a really bad experience and I was told that it would go away by family members-the "time heals" line which I'm sure...

How Are You At Taking Compliments Or Accepting Good?

I guess I'm on the opposite side as I graciously accept a compliment-but when it becomes a criticism-albeit constructive or less than-I take it in the wrong way no matter how the person is trying to come across. I see my response as a failure for not meeting the standards of that persons view...

Army field belts. If I see one I get that uneasy feeling that I am going to be on the receiving end again. Old Barns-where the belt did it's thing. Handguns

    Meds - Buspar For Anxiety?

Hi all, Newbie here posting a question for anyone that has been taking Buspar for anxiety related to PTSD...how has it worked for you and what is the maximum amount you are taking? Last Stages of Withdrawal

I stopped Paxil CR last year and had the same symptoms for around 2 weeks after going through the initial zaps and mental meltdown. I feel your pain as these meds are some of the worst to come off of, IMHO. I combated the lethargy by eating very light and staying physically active, taking walks...

For years I wanted to get revenge for the abuse and emotional trauma I went through, but in the end I guess I did as he is gone and I am still here.
