We have decided that it will work out best if we organize a set date and location to meet up with those of you in New York who would like to meet Anthony and I. In line with what we do in Melbourne, we thought a walk through Central Park and coffee/lunch afterwards would be a good idea. You can meet us for either or both. If anyone can recommend a good place to go for coffee/lunch in or around the park it will be appreciated.

As we will not have a mobile phone this sets a location without all the hassle of trying to co-ordinate too much. One of the point of our holidays is to get away from technology, commitments and mobile phones.

There have been members who have generously offered to give up their time and show us the sights and/or be a contact for us which we appreciate however we would just like to make things up as we go along based on what we have learned from people here and what we find out when in NYC. We will organize internet access so we can check this Event on the forum and will have an email address. If you would like the email address please PC me.

A group gathering offers a great opportunity for those in the local area to also meet other members of the Forum without pressure and in an open and public place. If things work out and it is agreed to meet up with someone/others after this walk then so be it but this is a good starting point.

Without sounding selfish, this may be a once in a lifetime event for us so we would like to have the flexibility of changing our plans or just simply the opportunity of staying somewhere if having a great time, without the pressure of having to meet different people on different days.

We are currently flexible with either the Saturday or Sunday depending on responses and even flexible on the meeting point - this is just what I came up with being on the edge of the Park.

Please feel free to share your thoughts.

Well as long as Anthony is there (based on his RSVP) then I guess there will be an attraction. It was tempting to put the meeting place in front of the zoos etc but which Panda to pick?!!!

Yes, probably twice the size of the above photo where I was wearing thermals, two tops, a long sleeve shirt, jacket and scarf. Expect beanie, gloves/mittens and two perhaps even a balaclava along with thermal leggings too. I don't do cold well at all!

Yes, my poor teddy bear picnic umbrella (from when I was in love with teddy bears) could not cope with the winds around Albert Park Lake today ...... good news is I get to go out and buy a new, grown up one now :roflmao:

I want this in Eldeberry color and have already located the store nearest our hotel (Anthony says I have too much Kathmandu so I am heeding his advice :sneaky: :roflmao:)
