I just wanted to say that I doubt this statement, @Tanishq. The likeliest assumption is that they are trying to protect everyone's right to their belief set - and they think the best way is to re-format the name of the deity of one religion.Recovery4Me, they must have lot of hate in their hearts.
I'd be really curious to know if they did the same for other potentially triggering-in-a-religious-sense words. Buddha, Allah - and other judeo-Christian proper holy names (Jesus, Holy Spirit, Redeemer, Almighty...those strike me as the big four). The name of any deity is quite powerful (emotionally), and I'd wager the owners of the forum R4M mentions are only trying to ease the impact of a potentially upsetting reference.
Religion is so broad and individual - I think it's really incumbent on forum members to police themselves and exercise tolerance - which is what I see us doing here. It's a big part of the identity of this place: you can say what you believe, and you can debate and disagree as passionately as you like - so long as it is not directly personal. Religion/faith/belief is as personal as identity, so we don't attack a members religion/faith/belief.
I suppose we could debate those subjects if we'd like, discuss their influence, our own relationship to them - and many members do. I love that about this place.
