    Therapy When Feeling Good

Well, the good times were short lived in afraid. I went I to therapy last week and told her I was feeling so good I didn't know what to do. And I guess she took that as a sign to "poke the bear" and get things going a bit. She still handled me well and I walked out doing much better than other...

    Therapy When Feeling Good

Well poop. Thanks for the honesty. I figured I would likely feel bad again, but it's good to know this isn't weird. Part of my issues was my sleep was so bad it was messing with my head. Now that it's been sorted, I'm feeling better. I definitely have a lot of trauma history, so I have no doubt...

    Therapy When Feeling Good

I have been seeing a new therapist for the past month and a half. It's been world's different from the last one. I think he was re-traumatizing me. I often left feeling triggered and reverted back to self harm behaviors I hadn't used in years. My problem is, I feel so good with this therapist...

    New-ish Counselor And Really Struggling

If I were to criticize him and he retaliated, I would not hesitate to leave. But I do not know if he's a bad fit yet. I think we are still getting to know each other?

    New-ish Counselor And Really Struggling

First, I just want to say I have seen several counselor's. This is not my first one. I just recently started seeing a new counselor a little over a month ago. I noticed I was starting to struggle again and it felt like it was time to start T again and work in stuff more. He's a great fit...

    Other Narcolepsy like ptsd symptoms

Shimmerz, I don't know how to quote things, so I will just answer them as a whole. Yes, I have been diagnosed with both PTSD and Narcolepsy, and am being treated for both currently. The problem is, chronic sleep depravation can mimic the the results needed for a narcolepsy diagnosis. I'm...

    Other Narcolepsy like ptsd symptoms

Kas_can_fly, Thank you for your response. I do realize the causes of sleepiness are very complicated and varied. I don fall asleep quickly sometimes. (Not everyone with narcolepsy suddenly falls asleep) but I also an sleepy a lot. My sleep is a mess as well. Waking up a ton, and abnormal sleep...

    Other Narcolepsy like ptsd symptoms

I'm posting here to see if anyone else may have knowledge or insight into this. I was diagnosed several years ago with PTSD (around 25) from repeated childhood trauma. Through counseling and antidepressants, I have had time where symptoms have been better. And then times where they get worse...

    Acceptance?

All the symptoms you are describing sound pretty typical for DID. I know it's hard and frustrating, but it's good you know and hang in there. We are here to help you. The migraines are pretty darn normal, as can be the other symptoms. I would encourage you to look at and be careful with meds...

    Thinking the worse

I completely relate to what you all are saying. I feel like I have been this way all my life. But in reality one of my abusers used to tell me no one liked me, etc. I also get paranoid I'm going to mess things up at work all the time. All these things make me on edge constantly. My T told me...

    Seriously Again

I guess "cured" is a very relative term. there are people that walk away after treatment, and do not have flashbacks and triggers anymore. Does that mean the memories don't bother them? Not necessarily. But there are people that walk away all the time from traumatic events, and although what...

    Seriously Again

I have to disagree that PTSD is forever. Chronic PTSD is, but not all cases are permanent. There are different degrees of PTSD and depending on how quickly someone seeks treatment they really can make a full recovery. I hope you do seek a therapist. I think you would benefit from seeing one.

    Seriously Again

Is there a significance to this time of year? Like is thins when your dad tried to commit suicide? Sometimes things like that can unknowingly trigger you. I agree with the others in that the pornographic pics can't cause PTSD but are more likely a trigger. It may be helpful to work on figuring...

I Need Your Brutal Honesty On This One...

Ha! Yes. I am a female, but my last boyfriend said I had the drive of a man. Lol! It didn't bother him at all but it bothers me because I really don't want to deal with this so frequently. I haven't told my T yet as there is lots of shame around this for me. I'm glad to hear I'm not alone!

    Ladies: Menstrual Cycle And Ptsd?

I haven't read through all the comments yet, but yes, at about a week before that time of month, my PTSD symptoms get monumentally worse. I trigger much easier than normal, and I have much more problems with cutting and suicidal ideations. I have been prone to this, when I was younger I was put...
