    Ptsd And Ritalin

That's true--those with ADD/ADHD do find stimulants calming, from what I understand. Though I am unsure of how someone with a co-morbidity of ADD/ADHD and anxiety would react to an amphetamine, since I'm not yet a psychiatrist (what I want to be, but have a long way to go--just changed majors)...

How Does Journal Writing Help Anxiety?

I personally don't find it helps. If anything, it just makes me feel worse, since it's giving more permanence to the problem by writing it down. IDK. I do forums instead--more productive since there is input/output, rather than just the throwing a ball against a wall that is journaling (for...

Sometimes I Just Fantasize About Death

Me too. It makes me feel a lot better, somehow. It's soothing to me, to think about it. It's control, in a way--deciding whether one wants to be here or not, rather than being forced into staying (involuntary detainment with the expressed purpose of making sure you don't off yourself, perhaps)...

Still Working On Finding A Place To Call Home

Seems like we're in similar predicaments. Finding a home is really a very complicated affair (especially when you're an entirely destitute immigrant with zero family support in the given country as I am). I've lived--everywhere. People's couches, boarding homes, rented rooms, etc. Just never my...

What Tv Show Makes You Feel Good?

I usually plop on Revolutionary Girl Utena, Pokemon, or Digimon (01 or 02). Maybe Elfen Lied or Chobits. Non-anime: King of the Hill. So mad when they took it off Netflix. :(

    Ptsd And Ritalin

I don't know how it would affect PTSD-specific symptoms (it didn't trigger any for me), but amphetamines of any kind (such as adderall/ritalin) are trouble for people with anxiety/panic attacks. If you fit the above description, stay away.

Started Taking Lorazepam (ativan?) - Advice / Experiences

I take Ativan, 1 to 1.5mg once a day as needed (with emphasis on the 'as needed' part). Have never experienced withdrawal symptoms, despite being on them for a bit over a year now. No cognitive decline to speak of. However, I am aware my dosage is a very low one, and my doctor is absolutely...

    Sufferer Disassociation A Problem

In my situation, my psychiatrist does medication monitoring/management/diagnosis. He has a medical degree. I see him once every two months barring something being wrong, which requires me making an early appointment. My therapist only provides regular talk therapy, she is not qualified to...

What Are You Feeling Today? Not Thinking, Rather Feeling! Can You Identify Yours?

I am not feeling anything, as usual. This is the way I enjoy it. I only get freaked out when I start feeling, because it means I am losing control.

Sufferer I Figured I'd Best Introduce Myself

I won't say much of my own personal situation on a simple introduction thread for the sake of brevity and keeping things somewhat lighthearted (also, honestly, I am exhausted--I don't want to talk about all of it right now because I'm not in the proper 'place' mentally to do so). I just wanted...

    Does Gender Of Therapist Matter?

Historically, I've had a preference around female therapists (never felt comfortable around males, I have no idea why, until my adult years). Presently, I wouldn't care, the only preference I have is that my therapist is not a f**ing idiot (you'd think this would be a simple request, but...
