The re-experience of trauma and its endlessness

I haven't read the book mentioned, though my T has mentioned it a few times during our sessions over the years. What I've learned to do whenever I feel strong emotions is to STOP. Whether current or triggers of the past, if I just stop I have time to figure it out. And I do so by just...

    Gaslighting yourself.

Your whole post describes my dysfunctional family as well. I have ONE aunt (of four) that reaches out to me. The rest? I must make the effort. I've decided to expend my energies on those who reciprocate. Primarily, my mom and my 2 brothers. I've gone completely no contact with my "dad" and...

    The End Game

I definitely feel like this. I ignored my body's needs for years to be a "great employee," to prove my worth to myself and my bosses. Eventually, my body said "F__ you." I now am disabled because of a TBI and I learned from a good friend the "good enough" rule. I no longer have the energies...

Omg, I actually had a GREAT day with my eating! Like, I actually got ALL of my recommend protein in (it's been 6 mos since I last did that- I have a weird thing about protein. I know...someone with an ED having a weird thing about food 🤭 lol at myself). Had 2 meals + snacks. Go me!! 😁

    ED Accountability (eating)

It's ok to have needs and to voice those needs. 😊 We're all in different stages of recovery. What would be helpful for me is to also know what responses you DO find helpful for you, as well as those you don't. Sorry if my initial reply was unknowingly triggering for you. 💕
