OrangeJulius that soooo reminds me of the time Husband admitted that he saw "people he couldn't save" in the bedroom at night. They just stand in the corner and stare at him. My mum rang me the following day and asked how he was... what do you say? What CAN you say? He's fine - he sees dead...
I am angry about my car...
We have planned for the past three years to sell it. Every time it fails its MOT or some part of it falls off, we have the whole "it must go" conversation. It is registered in his name so technically it's his car yet I drive it, I pay for each and every £600 MOT...
I had three close friends - two that I worked with and one next door - that knew. The two work friends moved away from the area within a couple of months of one another, and then we moved away from our neighbour back in January.
Since then, no one knows. Well - it's not so much that no one...
I can see why your husband might not like her, but I'm a bit of a closet royalist!!! I think it would be a real shame to loose the royal family and like it or not she is the future. I just hope that the "institution" doesn't chew her up and spit her out - but I think they may have learned from...
Thanks guys! Not triggers - I'm just squeamish!!!
I loved the beginning, got a bit lost in the middle - especially the bit with the trees - and then could not understand the end - but I did enjoy it and will now borrow the film!!!
Phew... I think I managed to read all those posts (well - I maybe missed the argument bit in the middle...)
Personally... I would say that anyone who was with their partner prior to the PTSD raising its ugly head is at a massive advantage when it comes to separating the person from the...
I read this a couple of years back. I loved the humour at the start - Richard Parker being such a brilliant name! I loved the descriptions of the family and life at the zoo.
I did get lost part way through - especially the bit with the trees (she says, trying desperately not to give anything...
I once read that one of the symptoms of a panic attack is the feeling that you are going mad - I can relate to that because your mind whirs and you cannot stop it - like a roller coaster. I said to the Dr the other day "I just want to be able to switch my brain off" and that's how I feel - if I...
Hi Bill - I am so, so sorry to read that you lost your friend. I'm also sorry that his passing brought back so many other memories. A friend of mine lost her Terrier recently and she's struggling terribly.
A friend of mine had this Irving Townsend quote as her signiture on a forum once and it...
Ah Gizmo - I am so sorry to hear that your husband passed away. But as Amethist says, he is at peace now - beyond pain and confusion.
My Gran carried a poem in her purse every day that she cut out of a newspaper once - it was called Do not stand by my grave and weep... It helped me a lot when...
I think it's very easy to feel guilty for feeling happy when you know that your loved one is not. I also think - ok I know! - that it is so easy to slip in to a rut and not make the effort to do something or even anything for yourself. I'm having a happy Tuesday! xxx
I love my Husband's strength too. These past few months he has simply been amazing, whilst I was the one that fell apart!!!
In fact, can I just copy and paste LizardViolet's post above as that could be me and mine!
Me too - normally about 4am or so and then I don't stand a chance getting back to sleep. The odd thing is I don't tend to get them during the day - just the ones that wake me up.
I hope they get to the bottom of it soon - it's good news that there is a treatment for it, even if it is a long term one. I prescribe a long soak in a nice hot bath... Yours, Dr Toria MD!!! :)
Hello JackAndy and welcome - like you say you cannot self-diagnose and you certainly cannot self-medicate! Whilst you are more than welcome here and to post here, there is a fellow-site for the Armed Forces that you can find here:
http://
They will not be able to diagnose you either, but you...
Hello Stepmom and welcome - like the others, I am incredibly impressed with your unconditional love and acceptance of your Stepsons. There are a few parents of Sufferers on the Forum - and there is also a fantastic Supporters section where you will be able to find them and share their...
Hello and welcome - like Ms Spock says, come down and have a look around the Supporters section if you haven't already - we are all very friendly and supportive!
Hi Chris - I've been reading through your posts and the first thing I thought was not that you'd done a very stupid thing, but that you'd done a very brave thing. I'm a Supporter as opposed to a Sufferer but I do have a phobia, and the thought of working in the same place as the thing I am most...
Hello Molly and welcome to the Forum. Well done on taking the initial step. Perhaps if you read through some of the other Introductions you will realise that you are not alone and take comfort from that fact. A lot of people on here read more than they post - it just depends on what you're...
Hello MSupport and welcome to the Forum. There is a whole section for the supporters of PTSD sufferers and you will find a lot of help and advice in there.
I am glad that you are seeing someone about your anxiety issues - it can be very hard to help someone when you are suffering yourself -...
