General I May Not Have Frozen Shoulders After All.

I have been having physio for frozen shoulders for the last few weeks, and to be honest they are not much better than when I first went.

I have found out today that my mum has Polymyalgia Rheumatica, which started out with exactly the same symptoms as I have.

Physio wont fix this, but a course of Corticosteroid tablets taken for up to 2 years probably will.

I will talk to the physio tomorrow and make an appointment to see my GP as soon as possibly.

If this is what it is and am given the tablets, I should notice a big improvement very quickly.

I've found physio next to useless every time I've been referred.

Hopefully you'll get to the bottom of what the problem is. Wouldn't be too bad if a course of medication can sort it. :)

I have been to see the physio therapist today, and she agreed that a blood test is in order to see if this is what it is.

If not at least we will have eliminated it.

I ache and am tried after today's session.

I hope they get to the bottom of it soon - it's good news that there is a treatment for it, even if it is a long term one. I prescribe a long soak in a nice hot bath... Yours, Dr Toria MD!!! :)

Going to have a hot shower later, as the water from the shower seems to help more than a soak.

Good luck, amethist. Since hurting my shoulder, I can empathize with you. My physical therapist is coming again today to see if the inflamation is down enough for me to start working out again. I am sitting here with an ice-pack on it as we speak. Good luck. I do hope they can solve the problem soon.

My mom had frozen shoulders. She tried physical therapy to no avail. She eventually had a surgery and that worked wonderfully. She has to continue to do certain exercises each day or the problem will return.

I have been for the blood test today to find out if I do have Polymyalgia.

It will be 2 weeks before it is back.
