Yes. It sounds like victim-blaming. In many cases the victim has already left the violent situation and gone on. Then, predator shows up and murders. I am lucky - so far - that the Office of Victims Services where I live has been helpful in my situation.

So sorry you are going through this! I have found that taking an ink pen and writing on my arm works to bring feelings of relief. Sounds silly, I guess. When I use that trick, I think it's the feeling of the pressure on my skin that works. It is noninvasive. Just sayin'.
