    Political Venting

That depends. There are several important aspects of this case, notably the pitifully small fraction of his sentence that was served custodially. Is that typical in Maryland? If so, then that aspect of the case is only remarkable insofar as it's a part of a larger pattern of releasing...

    Political Venting

Due process is: you're credibly accused of being an undocumented alien -> you get the opportunity to demonstrate that you are, in fact, documented; or that the documents you have are all that you need (e.g. are visiting under a visa waiver program which is why you don't have a visa); or assert...

Humans can't be trusted and are not worth interacting with.

Yours sounds like an insecure attachment style, a very common consequence of childhood trauma (my own I characterise as "avoidant as fսck" as it's mostly in that direction) and which indirectly contributes to cognitive distortions. As well as the trauma directly doing so. I ain't got no magic...

What Song Are You Listening To Right Now?

Does it count if I'm just listening to them in my head rather than playing them from somewhere?
  5. G

    Political Venting

I'm not sure if it's my current med change or mild dissociation or some weird hybrid but I'm feeling very detached right now and I ought not be. Especially when the present focus is on my own Minnesota.

    General question re PTSD/CPSD

As @Sideways says, yes to your question. I'd suggest checking out the International Trauma Questionnaire, which is based on the ICD-11 definitions of PTSD and CPTSD. You could bring a filled-out copy to your doc, perhaps. Note that this is very consistent with (C)PTSD since depression is...

    What did you clean last?

That brief interlude between extended periods of watching stuff slowly get messier and dirtier.

    What did you clean last?

Does snowblowing count? I did some of that and now I'm cream crackered.

    What did you clean last?

Do you guys have ADHD? My wife does and she forgets loads of laundry in the washer all the time.

    What did you clean last?

I swept a bit of floor.

What Are You Feeling Today? Not Thinking, Rather Feeling! Can You Identify Yours?

Mixed. Had an MRI. On the plus side, there's no physical basis for my PTSD. On the minus side, there no physical basis for my PTSD.

    Unwanted touch while married

Is it the surprise or the touches that are unwanted? If the former, can he announce his intentions first; if the latter, can he say it with flowers instead? Is that something you've deduced, or did you hear it straight from him? This sounds like you've had a detailed conversation about it; is...

The 1% thread - What can I / you do, to make our situation 1% better right now?

You want one of those big floorstanding wick humidifiers, not the little ultrasonic ones. The former do a much better job at getting water volume into the air. Maybe a floor fan as well to help mix the air around. Source: live in a cold climate where saturated outside air warmed up to room...

    thinking of you all

The 1% thread, or at least I'm pretty sure that's the reference. I'm keeping expectations low today: it's after 4pm and I haven't had breakfast yet. Kind of thing I've been needing for weeks.

    Ask a foreigner

I say, I say, I say, I say: what's the difference between Brits and Americans? Brits think that a hundred miles is a long way, but Americans think that a hundred years is a long time.

Do you have a favorite number, why?

42 of course. But I also like prime numbers, and employ them to set the TV volume to. Because aural response is logarithmic while I figure TV volume settings are linear, and the density of prime number is approxomately proportional to log(N), hence by sticking to the primes I have roughly...

    Photography Club

I did London to Land's End once upon a time, does that count? Only 325 miles though. As you get past Penzance you bump into people who have been walking / biking / unicycling / hopping from John O'Groats or other points to L.E.

Things only get worse, never better.

Yes, you can: the kids are witnesses.

    Chat, check-in, and hang out

I sometimes play with the Radio Garden app, to listen to the radio stations of where I've lived before. (Or sometimes ones deep in the Amazon rainforest, just for kicks).
  22. G

Am I going crazy or is this just dissociation?

Not crazy. Rather, I would suggest going back to whoever formally diagnosed you with CPTSD and ask to be screened for dissociative disorders. If you want to get a head start then check out the A-DES which is a screening tool (i.e. not a diagnostic) for pathological dissociation in 12-18 year...

Do you sometimes feel you're not human?

My money is on if they find that I have a mid-prefontal cortex, then it'll look screwy in some way.
  24. G

Do you sometimes feel you're not human?

I have a head MRI in a few weeks' time, where I've never been medically imaged before. Pretty sure they'll discover something not entirely human about me. If they don't then they'll no doubt have mixed up my scan with someone else's.
