(and by that I mean the illusions of PTSD, that would fool us thinking there is no hope)
You should not compare yourself to others.
We are all individuals that cannot be compared. We all have wildly different lives. Strength is in diversity, and in the fact that people have such wildly different lifes. If we were all the same, monotonous homogeneous bunch, then no strength would be...
Another reason why I feel you should make up your own mind is because media can be manipulated.
A narrative can be made to have you believe that "X beat up his wife" (like for instance the case of Johnny Depp) even if you have no proof that this actually happened, and you don´t know whether...
I loathe cancel culture.
The way you protect people is not by making them weaker, by telling them "you can´t handle this, so we must make sure you don´t get to see it".
A person in their life must decide on their own if they can handle it or not, not be TOLD by someone what they can handle...
I´m looking forward to calm.
Not necessarily calm with a specific catalyst. Just calm.
I´m also looking forward to things becoming stable. I´ve been figuring out what I want for a long time now and now is time to put it into action.
Agatha Christie´s "Passenger to Frankfurt". I found it in one of the free bookshelves around the city.
I´m surprised by how well she writes. Obviously she´s one of the greats, but I almost never read literature that surprises me.
I could use a hug.
I haven´t really seen anyone in months. I´ve been kind of isolated, mostly due to Corona and partly because I chose to accept the situation.
Hi guys,
Took me a while. Thanks for the replies.
I´ve been figuring myself out and I now understand the purity thing. It would take too long for me to exactly explain the reasoning, because it´s partly based on spirituality and partly based on an identity/boundary issue, like @Friday said...
I think you misunderstood me.
I meant that if you DO NOT strike up conversations with people then you only get to know the exterior. I striked up conversations with people on the road whereas in the city I had never done that. Ergo, we make the same point.
@Ronin, the journey has gifted me a headache :P
It has gifted me the knowledge of what I definitely don´t want, which I guess is good. Trouble is I am still stuck in that situation. The ideas of what I do want seem outlandish and impossible at this stage, specially considering the lockdown...
Maybe not. I don´t see a lot of the good around me. I´ve been locked up for a month now due to having the fricking coronavirus so I´m not in contact with a lot of good.
I returned from my pilgrimage to find that I had zero real-life friends left. I´m just having a bit of trouble having faith...
I agree that mud and blood can be pure. It depends on the context.
I will give you a completely unrelated example: there is a trend online these days of deliberately purchasing the "worst product" (of anything) on amazon, "unboxing" it and then proceeding to destroy it on camera and throw it...
My apologies Ronin if I come across as defensive. It´s just there is a couple of assumptions in what you wrote that I cannot relate with...
The mask thing would definitely be related to my issues around purity, but how is it wrong to not breathe in noxious gas?
I know quite a few people who...
Please clarify that, as I did not say that wealth equals impurity. If we are speaking about money, then buying crap just for the sake of buying crap, yes I do think that that is impure. It´s the thought/motivation behind the purchase that counts, not "having money".
You would be extremely...
I´ve been affected by Corona for 4 weeks now. It has been shit.
I go to the forest sometimes, as there is nobody there, and I also recommend just leaving that PC off and grabbing a book instead.
Being online helps me too but don´t forget it´s a way of distracting yourself from yourself.
Not quite sure where to put this.
I have a question related to purity and cleanliness, and to Christianity (although other religions feature similar ideas).
I´d appreciate input from Christians specially or those who were brought up with it.
When I was small I always felt "contaminated" by the...
