@void @Abstract , it's not illegal, technically. As a minor in my state, everything she's doing is legal. I don't see a therapist. It's not nearly as bad as when I was younger. It's tolerable, even normal you could say in my very old-school neighborhood.

I've been thinking about this a lot today. The truth? I think I actually loved her, even though I told/tell myself I'll leave her when I get the chance, and never come back. The even worse truth is that she still hits me and I still don't do anything about it.

My mother physically abused me, and I still live with her because I am a minor, although she leaves us a lot, but always comes back after a while. You are not crazy or stupid, and you are not alone.

The abuser was my mother. I was taller and stronger than her by the age of 13, but the abuse continued on for years. I never hit her back, it didn't even cross my mind. Would you have hit your abuser back if you had the strength to overpower them?
