I am not a soldier, or supporting Hillary or Trump. I'm just sad that Trump is spouting ignorance re: PTSD today.

“When people come back from war and combat and they see maybe what the people in this room have seen many times over, and you’re strong and you can handle it, but a lot of people can’t handle it,” Trump told a room full of veterans.

I saw the clip, and I honestly think his words are being taken out of context by the media. Before he said this quote, what proceeded it was that him saying he believes that mental and spiritual help programs need to be supported because some people can't handle the atrocities they've seen. IE they need help and support...there is nothing wrong with that.

I'm not a Trump fan, but I'm really not a Hilary fan....I'm very likely to vote 3rd party this year. But with that being said, I don't think it's fair to take his words out of context either.

I'm not a Trump supporter, but I am a Republican. *IF* I vote this year it will be for Gary Johnso...

I'm right there with you, Florian...we are exactly on the same page here. In the full quote, he was saying the VA needs to expand therapy for people that "can't handle" what they've experienced....I certainly don't take that to be the same as someone saying, "PTSD Vets are weak". In fact, I think the media reporting it in this way is where the disservice lies....being so PC that they are in fact the ones being insulting.

I'm not a fan of the man, but that's actually a very time tested results driven approach; to get people who don't see a need for something they don't personally need/want/use to see the need for others, and moreover to engage protective instincts, so they won't just see the need, but actively attempt to fill it.

Above is the entire quote...I don't think his intent was to call people with PTSD or mental illness weak...not when taken in context. Right, wrong, or indifferent, it was certainly not "meant" as an attack like the mediea is trying to portray.

Thats what the media does, especi ally this election! So much of what he is saying in the Hil...

You're welcome...it just didn't sit right with me...the guy is a pompous bubble head, but I don't think it helps at all to turn this into what it is turning into. By having the media sensationalize it, people with PTSD or mental illness are the ONLY ones that are going to come out on the losing side of this. It needs to be talked about in a healthy way, not in hyper stupid politics.

I'm ashamed of what our country has produced as candidates...we're so screwed. I think all the people that have been sickened by this should vote Johnson and teach the political machine a lesson and that we won't tolerate their self serving bs anymore.

I'm also tend to identify as a conservative, but am ashamed of them right now too...Neither candidate represents the people of this country....such a pity.

Was this a Hillary angle? I mean taking this small piece of what he said out of context and then putting a spin on it to mean the opposite of what he actually meant. Because if this was a Hillary angle it speaks more about her than it does about him.
