Will This Book Help Vietnam Vets?

Once A Warrior Always A Warrior, by Charles Hoge does a fantastic job connecting the dots, and making this whole mess understandable in terms that make sense. Spock recommended it to me a while back. I believe that Hoge is his councilor.

Anyway, it's a great read that I'd recommend to anyone.

I think any veteran, spouse, or family member has got to want to find more information before it would be valuable.

I struggled through it due to my state of mind. Yet, there have times where I was craving for more information as to why I am the way I am and ways to get around it.

I have actually emailed Charles, he is a lovely guy.

You can write Cantrell (the other author) and tell her your a vet that has PTSD and you would love to get some of her books. She sent me every book she has written all for free. I read them all and then passed them on to another vet who suffers as well. Her books are all in the same thread and they didn't have much new info in them. I gained some insight but they mostly deal with reintegration, as well as basic coping strategies. I don't think you will glean much new info if you have read other books on PTSD. I think her books are intended more for initial treatment and screening for PTSD.

Guys, we're talking apples and oranges. "Once a warrior always a warrior" is one book. "Once a warrior wired for life" is another that Red is referring to. I've got all three of Dr. Cantrell's books, and Red is correct, you write her and tell her you have PTSD and she'll send the books for free.

"Once a warrior always a warrior" I have yet to get and try to read (I too have difficulty reading books). And I can sit here all day and read posts on the internet but I can't concentrate on a book. I may even try one of those electronic books to see it that's better.

Anyway, thanks for the info on books. The more I learn, the stronger I get.
