Someone wrote the speech,

Someone writes every President's speeches. Every single one.

Honestly, I don't care if Trump is right, wrong, correct or incorrect.

I do. There is a point where hatred for him needs to be set aside for a moment and then watch what he does. Has he done and said wrong? Yes! But, I am intrested in what he does as President. Obama pulling out as fast as he did was stupid. I called it back then when he did it that terrorist groups will form and they did. Telling the entire world what date all the troops will be pulled out of the middle east, which Obama did, was stupid and reckless. Terroists are listening. Not acting and just allowing ISIS to trample all over the place was stupid. It is about time we act and put an end to it. And I am glad Trump is doing this. Does it mean I like him? No. I don't necessarly dislike him as President yet. I am setting aside anything I felt before he was elected. He is Presedent. I felt a sense of complete dread when Obama was elected, both times and most especially the 2nd time. But, he was still our President and there was nothing anyone could do about it so I set it aside and judged him off what he did as President. Am I happy Trump is President? No. But he is. So we must accept that fact. Personally, judging him off what he is doing I am liking a lot of it. I like that he wants to replace ObamaCare. It is dying and needs to be replaced. I hope, though, its better and not worse. And we need to act towards ISIS. I am not into a lot of news so it is likely I am missing some of the bad but the news seems to be sensationalizing and picking out very trivial things and blowing them way out of porportion and I am not into that. I am into facts and so swiming through all the sensationalism and getting to facts can be very difficult. Especially about Trump.

The way I see it, the thing to remember about Trump is, he more than likely really DOES have NPD. I don't say that just to bash him, or just because I don't like him. I say it because I really see evidence that it's true.

If he has NPD, that is going to affect everything he does. It doesn't make everything he does 'wrong', or 'bad', or 'evil'. His only agenda is how he looks, and feels, and getting the recognition he thinks deserves. He CAN look good by doing something useful. But helping people is not the motive, being awesome is the motive. I honestly don't care about the motive, just the results.

In this case, if he can accomplish something no one else has, it will really make him look good. That's cool, if it happens. But, the situation is complicated and I suspect it's WAY more complicated than he understands. If it blows up in his face, he will blame it on someone else. Because that's what you do if your version of reality revolves around you being perfect.

Something I'd like to see addressed is "exactly what does 'winning' in Afghanistan" look like. I'm not sure what Trump's definition of "nation building" is either. Seems to me that the only way to "win" there involved leaving a decent, worrying government in place when we leave. It didn't have to be an American style government, necessarily, but it had to be fair, ethical, and stable enough to give the Afghan people a shot at leading good lives. Anything else sets it up for the cycle to repeat itself. I'd call that "nation building" myself.

@lostforgottensoul , I'm curious. What was the source of your dread, when Obama got elected?

We will NEVER "win" this war. Never ever. We are going to be in it for a very long time. The only thing we will accomplish is the loss of lives and trillions of $$ MORE being spent. Russia is helping them as it Pakistan, and if we really looked I'm sure Iran and Syria too.

As far as nation building.... Why would we try and force our beliefs on another country. It's bullshit and can't be done. Iraq worked out well didn't it??? (Sarcasm dripping)

@scout86 No, I don't think he has NPD, I think he has Malignant NPD which is worse, way worse. If that's even possible.

@lostforgottensoul Exactly what has Trump accomplished except for a partial ban on Muslim countries????? And as far as Obama care failing.... That's TRUMPS fault. He has been spewing his crap for almost 2 yrs that it's failing, failing failing. Well, the insurance companies RELY on the government to FUND them for coverage and there is a deadline for doing so. Trump has threatened since he got into office to NOT fund them.... Now if you were in business and you depended on the government to fund you, and all you heard was that your company was failing and you were being threatened to NOT get funds for it, would you pull out???

The only thing he has done is sit behind his desk and sign crap that means nothing. He has pulled out of the Paris deal and has now threatened our water, oceans and air. He has flip flopped on EVERY ONE of his promises. He hasn't been able to fulfill any one of them. He spews hatred, violence, and encourages hate groups.

I think the most laughable one was when he came home from overseas and announced that he and Putin were going to build an anti cyber unit!?!?!?!?!?! OMG! I could not believe that he could even make such a statement. But then again, were talking about trump.....

He and his comrades are under investigation for tons of shit too, and you think that thereis a time to put hatred aside??????????? NO! IMO! It's time for the country to come together as they did in Boston this past weekend and for the government to do what is RIGHT and what is NEEDED!!!! Trump needs to be impeached under article 25. He is not fit to serve our country!!!!!!

What? I believe its IA that has no insurence companies. Thay happened long before Trump came into office. Its WAY to early to be putting fault on Trump. Seriously?

And when Obama went into office everything was Bush's fault. Never Obama's. Even into his 2nd term.

Well, his speech in Az showed his true colors. From defending what he said about Charlottesville, to threatening about his stupid wall project, to implying he would pardon Joe Arpio, and everything in between. Appeasing his base, and f*cking over the rest of the country. Anyone that gets in his way, he f*cks over, including his own party. Anyone read about his fight with Mitch McConnell?

He's such a great president, so presidential, so caring, so loving, so concerned about the country. Gag, gag, gag puke puke puke. I seriously hope and pray that one of two things happen.

1 That the black caucus decides to join the democrats in pushing for impeachment.

2. That the democrats win back the seats they need and they can start the impeachment process.

Either way this man needs to go, he's an embarrassment that has even left our allies scratching their heads and wondering what the f*ck is going on....

So true, @She Cat. Our allies are watching all this with horror, while Putin watches with glee. This is exactly the kind of thing he wanted to accomplish -- the destabilization of the U.S., the leader of the free world. And everyone who voted for Trump or still supports Trump is playing right into Putin's hands.

Deep breath. I am asking, with considerable reservation, for some feedback. The Berkeley "No Marxism in America" rally is tomorrow. This supremacist faction holds no city permit though various sources say plans to show up regardless. There is a counter protest that will meet them. There are also alternative peaceful rallies at two different locations, that are taking place-- the primary one, the one I wish to attend as a moral imperative, seems entirely too close to the alt-right agitators for my comfort and yet, despite my ptsd issues, I don't want to cower at home. I believe in strength in numbers, among so many other things. Thoughts?

I am not considering being a part of the counter protest. I am considering the rally which is held at a different location at a different time. I thought that was clear. I am far from the realm of stupidity.

I thought what happened in Boston, and today in SF was important.

But I should not get swept into stupidity perhaps.
