Oh boy does it ever suck!!!!! I really hope this does not backfire and I end up worse than I already am.

Yer... that has always been the fear of near surgery to all military as well. It can literally be a career ender, yet so normal to soldiers due to the stress place upon the knees in training and exercise. I was heading towards it, though didn't need it as discharged... though that may of only put it off until later in life as my knee buckles some times, though isn't annoying enough to make the time of day for me at this stage.

Start running again tomorrow, so hopefully that will strengthen it up again... on a running machine, so nice and dampened.

I have a torn meniscus in my knee but the surgeon didn't want to interfere unless it got too bad.

(((((NH))))) I put the date of your surgery on my calendar, you'll have my prayers and candles burning for you. You've had lots of good advice here, so I won't risk repeating them. I'm just sorry that your daughter is being self centered at this moment. It sometimes takes time for them to "grow up and mature".

I went to go see the rehab facility and was in schlock at how bad it was. It seems I am going to have to go to war with the ins company to get some kind of alternative option. This just arises more problems and more anxiety. I have issues that need to be monitored after the surgery. To name a few major issues with medication and one kidney. Never mind what I might face after the surgery. This is getting closer every day. Part of e feels like if I don't get the after care needed here I may need to postpone and go to New York to find a surgeon. That way I will have more options of after care.

NH, Were you allowed to meet with the Administrator of the facility or anyone in command. Or was it the "tour guide" who isn't as versed in the full workings. You have specific needs which must be available. Another place to check is your local gov office has a ombudsman. Ask for Rehab facilities. Or tell them your needs and they can research. It is their job and I believe part of the Governors Office! Hugs Whitney

I agree with Whitney, the ombudsman program is a really great organization. They really help and fight for you and they get things done. I have had personal experience with them. Keep on fighting the good fight NH. You are so worth it. Big hugs.

(((NH))) I am so sorry that the facility was not what you needed. I hope you are able win the battle with the insurance company to find a place that is suitable. Is is the facility itself, the staff? Gosh I am so sorry this is not helping with your anxiety. If you need to talk, I'm here.
