(((NH))),
Due to recent events of my own, I am just catching up with your thread! Sorry, I miss so much on this small device.
Lol, I am the last person to advocate for someone to go into the hospital, as I do not know if I will ever get to go home myself. However, I CAN definitely relate and know that you truly need this procedure, wherever you choose to have it done!!!
So despite the bills and the fears, I genuinely believe that this could greatly improve your daily pain level and your quality of life dramatically.
The procedure has drastically changed for the better over the years. I know many people who have had it done in the past and many who have had it done more recently, and there truly is no comparison. Some even say they wished that they had not waited so long...let us trust that this will be your feeling too when it is over with.
Anyhow, I AM so very proud of you, especially knowing just how daunting this is for you. I am proud that in spite of your fears and mental setbacks, you continue to move forward with ALL your goals.
I read every single post, some twice, and I can not really add anything new, but I can strongly agree with each. To fight PTSD alongside surgery is far from easy, but again you ARE doing it!!! And doing it well!!!
And by no means are you taking up "unnecessary space in other people's minds" (sorry if I miss quoted that) by writing about you fears, goals, challenges and successes. Please remember that those of us who read your post, do so freely and willingly. So kindly stomp out that guilt, will ya? ;)
In addition, you ARE indeed an amazing person. Just so damn sorry that it is so hard for you to see it and believe it, yet at least you are "open to hearing it" now. :)
I too have marked the date on my calendar and am sending you the strength you need to keep going! I hope you can feel it. As for the before, during, and after, if there is anything I can do to help you get through and beyond this, please DO let me know.
I AM here for all those who fight tremendous battles on many fronts. I AM here for you, as are all the others who have posted on this thread.
And much like a fawn, like these two little ones (especially the one with the "extra load" ;) ), who struggles at first to "walk" on their new legs, may your rehab be easy and swift, and you back on your feet and in your home with your babies in no time.
and
Just a suggestion mind you, but perhaps we could change the title of this thread to "Support for Nighthawlk and her Knee Replacement Surgery"???
With the warmest regards and (((reassuring hugs))),
Alex
PS - I have not forgotten to rewrite part II of my email, as I truly know how stressful it is to have to be without your babies for this procedure. I just have been crying too much since Monday. I will finish it asap and hope you can understand the reason for the delay. :(
