Terms

1. Any member can participate.
2. Existing premium members can gift the upgrade to a member of their choice, as you can't have what you already got. It must be a username provided who you feel should have it.
3. Old Lifetime Premium Member Accounts can relinquish all rights from them to adopt the new annual premium member account if they choose, which provides far more features.
4. The first post in this thread that contains the correct answer, showing the passage across each time, wins.

Teaser

Crossing the creek so you get everyone from one side to the other without breaking the rules.

There is Patty and Paul with their four children, Steve, Timothy, Alison and Katy. You then have a sheriff and his prisoner.

1. The barge can only carry two people, maximum.
2. The barge cannot be operated by children or prisoners.
3. Paul cannot be in the daughters presence without Patty.
4. Patty cannot be in the sons presences without Paul.
5. The prisoner cannot be alone with anyone, and must be in the sheriffs presence.

Timothy & Steve go first Timothy stays,
Steve goes back and gets Paul and they cross
Timothy goes back and gets Allison and they cross
Alison goes back and gets Patty and they cross
Alison goes back and gets Katy and they cross
Steve goes back
The Sheriff and Prisoner cross
Timothy goes back and gets Steve and they cross

Hmmm... well, I'm trying to think how you would be able to get all the people across without having the daughters left with the dad, the mom with the sons lol etc. My only thought is the following. You would need to take the prisoner over, but bring him back, the same as the mother, the same as the father, resulting in quite a number of trips. And it seems too complicated so apologies if my logic is wrong.

Sheriff and prisoner go over. Sheriff comes back. (prisoner not allowed to be with anyone without guard)
Sheriff and Alison. Sheriff and prisoner come back. (Prisoner comes back because he cant be without sheriff)
Patty and Katy go over. Patty comes back. (that gets the 2 daughters over)
Patty and Paul go over, Paul goes back.(Paul goes back because he cant be with daughters without Patty)
Sheriff and prisoner go over, Patty goes back. (Prisoner can't be without Sheriff)
Patty and Paul go over, Paul goes back. (goes back to get sons, Patty is already out of the way)
Paul and Timothy go over, sheriff and prisoner go back. (because son can't stay without Dad)
Sheriff and Steve go over, Guard comes back.(Leave prisoner by himself because he cant be with anyone)
Guard goes over with prisoner. (Guard takes prisoner back, but IMO should just leave him there lol!)

Again, sounds too convaluted for it to be right. They should just swim!
