Yes, I do understand all this. It's just that I'm wondering how I can keep the sender secret if I put my real address on the parcel? Probably making this more complicated than it is...

Yes - I have sent mail a couple of times to the US and UK and had it distributed from those countrieswith my return address and all was delivered. You would think the postal service is reliable and I think the sooner you send your gift the better chance of delivery so it doesn't get caught up in all the local Christmas mail.

I would suggest using your own return address or even a work one as said before.... the PTSD Forum was an option. I don't believe you have to put a sender's name on it though which is what will make the Kris Kringle work. If you have to disclose your identity - the recipient still needs to be able to link your forum name and real name so there is still some safety in that unless your forum name is your real name like me. I often send mail and just put our PO Box address as the return address with no problems. That is Australia though.

Well the recipient would need to know where you live and really, why join in something anonymous to go and spoil the fun by working out who sent it to you. :rolleyes: It's all about the spirit. :)

Actually - for those who are nervous I think this exercise is a really good one for regaining some trust that there are good people out there and they will respect your privacy as they would want theirs respected.

Again I will say there is not one member I feel concerned about who is participating. If I did I would not have included them as I take on some responsibility for organising this.

I am glad of this. I did worry about people participating that had just joined this forum and we know almost nothing about.

This has been playing on my mind and I think it would be fair to say that it may in fact make newer members feel more welcome and part of the forum.... we need to be cautious but at the same time we need to be careful how we project that.

I have checked everyone's IP address for location and ensured that nearly, if not all, are cross continental so there should be no need for any concern.

In a way this is like a two-fer...We get to give/receive Christmas gifts, and as you said Nicolette it is sort of an exercise in trust! Fun times. If I get my present early I will put it under the tree and try to exercise patience and not open it early...well, I will try :D
