I would not have even considered getting married until I had let my subconscious and my consciousness go to summer camp together to really get to know one another, each one of them coming back with merit badges saying, "I remember you now!" :O_o:

Getting married. I wouldn't change having my Son. He is such a blessing in my life. But I would not have stayed with his father. I feel both my boy and I would be much better off if I had just left with him.

I wish I could talk to my brother that I lost to lung cancer one more time. It was a complicated death. I miss him so much.

I wish I could have learned how to be more self-disciplined with my finances at a much earlier age. (It would have eliminated one more stressor to all those that already plague PTSDers.)

And connected to the above: I wish I could have learned how to recognize my emotions, sit with them, and come up with better plans of action rather than spending money as a means of escape.

I wish I had been diagnosed and treated when I was a child.

I would have never assumed the responsibility of taking care of my ailing parents to death. I suppose God will grant me some points for it......but it sure was stressful and they never took care of me. Perhaps Mom a bit, but not much.

I'd have had my mom divorce my dad when I was six, which is when his violent emotional outbursts started becoming a problem (at least, when I remember them becoming so). That way (if I could add this level of detail to this one specific thing) she could meet someone who was worthy of her love, my love, and my brother's love. I think I could have been OK being my dad's child genetically, if he hadn't heaped on all the emotional abuse.
