Me Myself and I

Hello,
My name is Nabila, and I'm 22 years old. I'm libyan-italian.
I've been lately diagnosed with PTSD and I would like to share my story hoping that it can in anyway possible help even if just a little!!
The first attack (seizure) I had was on the 26th of February 2011, I was in Libya back then while the uprising. It was a proper war and we've been through a rough time.
I was sitting watching T.V, following the news to keep updated with was going on and what would've happened next!!
Everything was just normal, then all of a sudden I felt really cold, nervous and I started sweating ... I stood up and decided to walk a bit to somewhat keep my self distracted, but it didn't seem to work. Five minutes later I remember me laying in bed having very strong convulsions that lasted for about 15 minutes ...
We thought it was a normal panic attack, because I didn't have the usual symptoms of an Epilepsy. I was shaking all together real hard, yet I didn't lose conscious and I was completely aware of what was going on. The next day I had another attack, or to be more precise a semi-attack, this time only my head and neck were involved.
At that point we decided to go and see a doctor, just in case to see what was this all about!! So we went to the hospital were the doctor asked me some questions and said that everything was fine and that it was just a panic attack caused by the circumstances we were exposed to in Libya at that time!
Back home late that night, I had another attack, so we called again to take another appointment to recheck the issue. The next morning, we went to the hospital, and met this other doctor who asked me to go for an ERI brain test that showed no lesions nor any kind of problems, then he decided to go for an EEG test, that surprisingly diagnosed a form of Epilepsy (Juvenile Myoclonic epilepsy).
After that diagnose the doctor subscribed me (tegretol 200mg). The attacks continued taking place, seeing no change the doctor subscribed me Sodium valproate. I kept increasing the dose up to a thousand 500 but nothing, and that lasted for a year and 4 months.
The frequency of the attacks increased, the strength and form varied as well!!
Seeing the situation getting worst day by day we decided to go to England, after a lot of check ups, blood tests, exams, a one week admission in the hospital and everything, they've finally figured out what was the problem.
I've been told that I suffer from PTSD.
They've explained the cause of these seizures very simply. They said that basically I have this ummm let's call it "box" in mind, that unconsciously whenever I get any flash back of the events in Libya or something bothers me or stress me out. This box store it in, and when it's full this box has to "empty" itself, and the only way to do that is sending signals to the mind and body and releases whatever was in the box through these attacks.
Well I'm not a doctor nor a professor, I'm just a 22 years old girl who had been and still suffering from PTSD since 2 years now, but I'm sure that I can help you someway!!
Because you can never ever hear what's is it about nor how it feels like to have it from a doctor as to hear it from a patient.
So if you need to ask any questions about it or just feel like talking, please do!!
you are not alone!!
