News Explosion At Boston Marathon 2013

The Tuesday deportation of the Saud "witness" has been stopped for now. As they sift through the data, I imagine it will be a while to see if this is a "random" act or part of a broader sustained effort by a small group or cell.

Heard an interview with the mother, who said, "I don't care if they kill my son" and added the all too familiar "allahu ackbar" that is now synonymous with jihad. Disturbing.

Apparently he was Mirandized after his admission to his crime and as an American citizen I hope he is afforded his right to a trial. I don't want to see the rights of citizenship trashed for any reason... even terrorism. Bloomburg and others have suggested we need to rewrite or reconstruct the constitution. I disagree. I think that would be a slippery slope.

He was mirandized and will be afforded his right to trial at tax payer expense no doubt. It is a shame that he will cost the good, hard working people of this country more money we could use to educate our children.

In my humble opinion, they should make a bomb like he made, put him in a room with it, and let it go off. If it severs his legs, so be it because that was exactly what he afforded the people with whom he chose to damage through his actions.

I can only hope that he is given the death penalty under the federal court system. Massachusetts does not recognize the death penalty so it is likely he will only be convicted and mandated to life for the MIT officer he killed. As of today, no charges have been brought against this murderer for this atrocity, but the bombing charges are handled by the federal government which does recognize the death penalty. Unfortunately, he will likely sit on death row for 30 years and appeal his conviction 3 times while costing us millions. There simply has to be a better way.

Where was our FBI when they were told of the brother being a possible threat to this country! I blame the government they really screwed up this time. I also can not believe this government is trying to say the bomber is not a terrorist. He is a terrorist. Home grown. I say death penalty and do not waste another penny on such a evil person. Thanks for letting me rant. I also say I am more scared by this whole thing. My freedom is shaken. :(

I hold a different position on this whole event. I pray for those lost and for those who survived. But I cannot hate the terrorists despite their actions being evil. I've come to this odd conclusion based on being a terrorism survivor. I hold no hatred now against the hijackers on September 11, 2001. For the longest time I did and then had to let the hate go in order to move on with my own life. I never thought I would see another terrorist attack in which I didn't hate those responsible. Don't get me wrong I'm glad they are caught/dead but there is no hatred there at least for me. There is also no hatred from me towards any religion or ethnicity involved in either attacks. Maybe it's just a part of what I need to do in order to heal.

I do feel sorry for him, just thinking about him in that boat. He is a kid and his brother probably influenced him too much. I am glad he is caught and has admitted that he did it. I am just wondering, first of all, where did they get all that ammunition, if neither had a registered gun? And why did they think they could pull that off without getting caught, throwing explosions around as the police tried to catch them?? Were they trying live out some media-based fantasy of being on the run? It's just lunacy. They are saying it was self inspired religious fanatism, but not even the Imam at one of Boston's mosque wanted to give a funeral for the brother.

Has anybody said they hated??? Maybe I missed it. I want the surviving perp afforded his rights as an American citizen. I want to be able to call it what it is without political correctness. When Christianity was in turmoil we had the Reformation. Islam, needs their own reformation, but they largely as a group remain silent on the matter to, I believe, their own detriment. In Afghanistan this week 74 girl students were poisoned... in the name of jihad.

That these groups hit soft targets and inflict death, pain and suffering on innocent civilians wherever they may be perhaps perverting their rallying banner - Islam, radicalization under a religious banner is an abomination. I think American, European and Southeast Asian Muslims might want to start policing their own. The Middle East... I think they are a lost cause.

Change can only come from within... when it comes from without, it is the green light for radicals to kill, or cross borders to hit soft targets for "their causes". They need to police their own and become a part of civilized society.

I hope I have not given the impression that I hate because that is not me! As like you Laurie J it is nothing personal. You should do what,s in your heart to heal.

I fear the growth of the evil we have seen and its destructiveness to the human race from any culture that condones it. This conversation was singled out because of the bombing in Boston and the events that had led up to it. No other reason. Not love not hate.

These specific individuals were brainwashed like many in their culture to believe what is taught to be true and right.LWe know this is fact. They do not need to act in evil ways it is a personal final choice. You can,t love or hate this out of them. We saw how our government poorly protect us with warnings of the terrorist being here from another country. Right under our noses. We need to wake up and smell the terror. It is happening in this county more and more. I want justice and protection! I want my old USA back.

I think hatred is counterproductive to Justice.

HI MovinOn My opinion is that love and hate have nothing to do with justice. Justice is what you get for making a conscious effort of doing wrong and breaking the law. Justice is what you deserve as punishment it is a way to hold you accountable. It is a set punishment put in place so we have some control in this country. This is one black and white situation I am sticking to.
