Hello,

Lately, my nightmares has become too vivid and so clear to know what is going on.

It scares me and I am wondering if you have similar experience?

Common for PTSD sufferers receive this?

I had been going through the same experience as well, There was a period where my nightmares were so realistic that I couldn't actually tell wether they were just nightmares or memories.

I talked about it to my T and he adviced me to write them down as soon as I wake up.
I found that really helpful. And since as sufferers is good to adjust the techniques to a way that best suit us, I not only used to write them down, but I used to exchange the worst part of that nightmare into nice scenarios or good memories I had, and somehow it worked out pretty well.

Hope it helps. :)

Write down as soon as I wake up - That's good idea but for me, it's challenge because sometimes it doesn't make any sense or could not identify on where it came from.

I didn't try to write it down, I normally get up and go instead of get up then slow down.

How do you exchange the worst part of nightmare into nice scenarios or good memories? I'm curious.

Thanks

In terms of tracking your dreams, I recommend using dreamboard. It's a unique website that allows you to track not only the story, but the emotions you felt during and upon waking. This was really useful for me for a period of time. I'm not typically great at remembering to write things down, but blogging has been a past time for me (as well as using forums for support), so the website seemed more natural for me.
Hopefully this helps and I wish you the best of luck =D

I awoke to a nightmare last night. It was of a girl being raped under a blanket, and she was screaming while the man slapped her up. I didn't see either of their faces, so they could have been anyone, even the girl could have been me, I suppose. This nightmare still upsets me now, some 10 hours later. I was date raped, in real life, so this could have had to do with my life in some way. Also, in the dream, there was another woman in the room, she looked worried, but neither of these women fought the man off or tried to stop him. In my rape, I was unable to stop him, but I did try for awhile, then gave up. He was so much stronger than I. Also, when I awoke, I even wondered if I might actually have heard a woman screaming, it was so real!

I don't suffer nightmares every night, thank the Lord, but I do have maybe 2-3 times per month. And, yes, Anthony has an article that is entitled WHAT IS PTSD? here in the articles section, under the member listed section. In it he does say that we suffer sleeping difficulties, including nightmares. So this is common among all of us, unfortunately.

..have you changed any medications lately? Certain ones have caused me to have seriously vivid dreams.

@kahlan

No - my medication are the same and no changes.

It has started since I reconnect with two people of the past which they turned their back on me being involved with issues between me and other person.

These people I reconnect just made peace and have a good conversation.

I plan share this with my psych about it.

@SheilaKathy

I used to have many nightmares before I start medication.

Since I am on prazosin and it has been reduced but not completed gone.

The dosage is very low and my psych doesn't want to increase more dosage due to side effects.

My psych goal to get me stable more priority rather than getting too many side effects.

I was told that I would kick, hit, move lot, and used hands in air, angry look when restless while sleep.

What I usually do, is write down whatever I can remember from that
Nightmare.
Then basically come up with a whole new dream, say for example in my dream there was a man running towards me trying to attack me, I would give the man a "cartoon" face, and just as he is about to attack me he'll vanish, or trip.

I'll repeat this version of the dream over and over again, to the point where I actually start to believe that this was the original dream from the very begining.

I know it may sound silly or stupid, but if you believe it might work, it will work. (It does for me).

That idea sounds good and if it works for you then that is good news.

I might can try and see if it works for me as well. I know that if it works for you does not mean it will works for me.

Thanks for your suggestion.
