You might want to consider group therapy with a good well-educated moderator. I used to be in therapy like that but had to move. I got a great sense of community in a way I've never experienced anywhere else exactly. Yes, it can get tense sometimes but that's why it takes a good strong...
A lot of us have been through false guilt and pressure to cover for our abusers. When I first started trying to speak out I could barely even write down what had happened to me because my hand would start to go limp against my will when I tried. That's how strong the psychological hold was on...
This can sometimes be connected with sleep paralysis. For me I only got this when I got sleep paralysis and once the sleep paralysis stopped happening to me this did too. If you are talking about the type of sleep hallucinations that can come with sleep paralysis, then it can be trauma induced...
Nova had an interesting episode on epigenetics a few years back. They also talked about descendants of famine victims. The info you just posted is probably more recent but there's still some good stuff in that Nova episode. It will come up if you google "Nova epigenentics." I hope this will be...
Welcome Charlie! My trauma is not very similar to that. It's from abuse and stalking. Although I have had some attempted break-ins because of that but that's where the similarity ends. I have worried about finding myself in a situation like the one you were in. I hope this site helps you. I...
Does anyone else get this? I blush randomly in social interactions with no trigger but fear of blushing. I've found a helpful link I'm going to try out. Have any of you had success with treating this? See link for further detail: https://socialanxietyinstitute.org/blushing-social-anxiety

Ok, so tonight is a full moon. Does anyone feel a difference? I can't say that I really feel a difference. Maybe I'm just not that sensitive to this stuff. Does anyone else want to take over this thread? If not I think I will just let it fall by the wayside.
Hi Soca. I'm starting my third and final year of law school in a week. My experience is almost identical to yours. It's a very rough situation. I don't have any medical training or formalized education in PTSD but I just wanted to reach out and say hi because of how similar my situation is to...
I thought I would share a link to another discussion on here because there seems to be some overlap of the subjects:

While there will not be an overlap for everyone experiencing this stuff, I think there is for a number of...
Are you willing to consider going back to school and living on student loans for a while? Also, you might want to try finding a professional recruiter in your field or maybe at least a professional resume/cover letter writer. Good luck with it!
I watched the opening ceremony last night and it was beautiful. I'm so glad that they have introduced a refugee team this year for people who can't compete for a country. I will be rooting for them. As and American I will be rooting for the Americans too but in a way, I think I can identify more...
That's what this old thread I started a while ago was based on:

In the past I have also had the jumping into traffic one but luckily only the speech based, not the action based ones, are difficult for me to control.
I struggle a lot with stuff like @Justmehere described. It's not stuff I actually want to do. It's stuff that scares me and jumps into my mind for that reason. It's especially bad under stress.
