defense mechanisms are both positive and negative. When positive, the mechanism is mitigating harm; but when taken too far, when the defense becomes normal, it turns negative.
Lashing out with a forearm is positive in a dangerous setting; negative at work. Not gonna hate it; not gonna condone...

Perhaps the dislike of human contact/interaction is specific to certain disorders.
Certainly, any client who needs/desires interaction, compassion or acceptance from individuals/groups would feel deeply alienated by an AI therapist's simulated emotional responses.

you could also top your shelf with large spiders displayed/preserved in acrylic. people will avoid your floor to avoid you, and it doubles as exposure therapy for spider fears.
