That sounds very stressful. One family member and I cut off all contact five years ago and it's been so much less stressful not having her in my life.
No one else in the family has told me that we should "make up and play nice". Everyone either took her side or mine and agreed fully with...
I love a lot of the responses here. For me it seems to be different at different times.
Sometimes me is gone and I didn't see it coming. Those I can't voluntarily get out of. After my first flashback it happened for two weeks. I had blacked out big chunks of my childhood and never realized it...
I get those "character jumps" also. That's a great way to phrase it. I'll feel more like a spectator then a participant in my behavior and words. I don't think I have DID. I'm aware, but don't feel in control. It never lasts very long though.

I just wanted to thank you for staying this thread.
I have many of the same thoughts but couldn't put them in words.

There are a ton of them around...
Your family wakes you up from a dream where you are sobbing to ask if you're ok and you tell them you're sobbing because the bbq you were at had no more hot dogs left... Yet it was actually because your mom was there and she said something that had you shaking and sobbing again.
But your 67 and...

I'm glad you found us. Just reading through some of posts have helped me.
Loneliness is definitely a problem for me. I live very isolated right now. Going to the store is difficult and I order most things to be delivered.
I haven't shared my diagnosis with many...
I need prayers today. I've never asked for prayers before but I am so weary and my anxiety is so high. My responsibilities are 365 days a year. I'm having trouble getting through them today. Thank you to whoever reads this.
@Tinyflame
"I think there can be so much pain it's beyond words"
That sentence really hit me. I haven't thought of it in those words. That is such a perfect way to describe what we all go through. Thank you.
