    Sudden changes in depression/suicidality?

I wanted to know if any of you who have struggled with depression ever have the experience of sudden changes in your feelings of depression or suicidal thoughts? For example, being completely fine for weeks, and then waking up the next morning extremely depressed and suicidal. Or feeling...

    DID DID support groups?

Thank you so much everyone! It definitely seems like it'd be nice to have more people to talk to about this and find some more support.

    Coping strategies for Triggers

I don't know if anyone else already suggested this, but maybe there are other ways to enjoy the social and spiritual aspects of church besides attending church on Sundays. Does your church organize / could you or one of your friends organize a group of churchmembers to go to some volunteer work...

    Isolation and Life Purpose

Lately, my PTSD is so bad that I have been stuck at home almost 24/7 for over a month. Sometimes I can get out and drive around. Once or twice I was able to leave the car and go somewhere--i.e. the store to get food. But, my anxiety has been keeping me from getting a job, volunteering, or...

Does anyone find hearing/seeing their own name difficult?

I don't have this all the time, but I have felt it before on several occasions. Not sure what it is or what it means. I have DID so it is possibly related to that.

DID DID: just diagnosed, any tips/good resources?

I've read all three books @MyWillow suggested and found them super helpful, especially the Janina Fisher book.

YES, totally agree with you, can't figure this one out either

Door slamming would be completely terrifying to me! Probably worse than the high-powered electric zapping-like sound I hear

    Other Exploding head syndrome

Yes, its definitely interesting, but also pretty freaky when it happens. No matter how many times it happens, I always think I'm going to die. I actually read a journal article that said its connected with PTSD and dissociation and is a form of somaticism, which was interesting.

    Other Exploding head syndrome

I have exploding head syndrome too. It doesn't happen every day, but seems to come in clusters where it'll happen several days in a row and then not happen for a while. Its always been really disturbing, and I usually fear its a stroke. But i never talked to anyone about it (I'm afraid of...

    Two choices-fear or danger

Yes, I'm seeing a therapist. She just keep suggesting ways to lower my fear, because I'm afraid that my abuser seeing me will trigger them to harm me so I avoid most public places. I want freedom from fear and to have a better life. But i realize that it doesn’t feel safe to not be afraid. If I...

Thanks, @LuckiLee , that is a great idea. I almost went to one several months back, but my anxiety was too high. Maybe I should try again.

    Two choices-fear or danger

Thanks for responding, @Still Standing , unfortunately I do live in a similar area to my abuser right now, and am working to save enough money to move. But even when I've been on vacation in another state or another country even, I am constantly afraid that somehow they will show up when I least...

    Two choices-fear or danger

I don't want to live in fear, but it feels as if I only have 2 choices: 1. Somehow make myself decide "who cares" and just live my life the way I want to, not worrying about whether my abusers may end up trying to hurt me again or kill me, and potentially exposing myself to the risk of getting...

DID Child parts doing adult activities in did

Thanks for your response, @Sideways , I definitely want to find out why they show up at these times. But I also want to understand how I am able to still do these adult tasks despite a kid part being out? A 6 year old doesn't know how to make rice, but I've had times where it came out and I was...

    Other Essential tremor

I don't have essential tremor, but my best friend does. As does her mom and one of her brothers. Its a family thing for them. They sometimes feel embarrassed when people ask "are you ok?" when their hand shakes as they lift a glass of water. I'm sorry its a stressful thing for you. Just know...

    DID All the time-no break

I'm sorry things are so tough, @Punky143 , I can relate, and I know many with DID can too. Its a huge struggle. But don't give up, it will get better, just keep moving forward through the struggle, and give yourself all the self-care you can, and just never give up.

DID Child parts doing adult activities in did

Do any of you with DID have times where a kid part is out but you are engaging in adult activities that a kid should not know how to do i.e. driving a car, cooking/baking, working, etc? How do you or your therapist explain whats going on here?

Dissociation during emdr every time - advice?

Thanks for your reply! I'm never heard of brainspotting before, I'll have to look it up. I have a little fidget toy, maybe I could hold it during EMDR and see if that helps.

    Dissociation on eeg

Super interesting. When I've dissociated during neurofeedback, the EEG doesn't flatline, it just changes patterns to be more tall up-and-down and more spread apart side-to-side. I wonder what makes it different in the two of us?
