I give you a name and address and you send the gift to the person without your name (it is supposed to be secret).

For mailing purposes you can put

as the return address so your identity is kept hidden or you can use your address without your name.

This does not replace the Christmas cards you want to send.

If we mail a parcel here in Germany, we have to put a name though. But since people here don't know my last name anyway, can I just put my address and my last name only?

Using the Australian address is also not possible. If the parcel got lost in Germany, it would not get sent back to the Australian address (due to the German postage) -- that is, as far as I know.

Its just for those who are very concerned about disclosing their address. I am sure there are other options and you have to consider your country's rules - its just an option.

A work address and first initial and surname just came to me as an option.

I don't have a problem with my address - that's why we have a PO Box.
