My health insurance ends at the end of the month, and I have 6 sessions on the Employee Assistance Program that will expire in three months. I can keep the insurance if I choose to pay the full amount, and that will require me to get another job soon in order to pay for it. Hopefully I can get something soon, but honestly I feel pretty good right now, and I want to soak in this relief and denial. I just want to take a break, even if it's short.

cool..... you have a plan...and with a good reference yes...moving on and a break sounds good the way you have written it there.

I know from your writing earlier ...its like some crescendo of anxiety and stress...and now its passed. pause break and then your plan...treatment

I don't give advice often, but I feel compelled to do so now. If you have three months to use six sessions on the employee assistance program my advice is to use them. First things first. If you have PTSD and you don't start getting a handle on it, it will affect every part of your life. See a counselor if you can, and then decide what to do.

Good advice there Patrick...not knowing what the system is in the States there I didnt know if the employee assistance program was good or bad I have to say.

This is the place A-RON...so much here~ a wealth of support and information

If you are in the US and you get on disability I believe - could be wrong but I think you can get Medicaid or Medicare along with it - might be something to look into .

First I want to point out that this is a very old thread...over five years old. The person who started this thread hasn't been on the forum in over four years.

That being said, if you are on disability in the US it is possible to get Medicaid but not guaranteed. It depends on how much you are getting in disability. Some people will qualify and some will not. As for Medicare, once a person has been on disability for two years they are then eligible to receive Medicare benefits. Hope this helps to clear things up for you.
